Kill Bill 3: Zendaya Seeks Revenge Against The Bride In Fan Poster

New fan art takes a stab at creating a poster for Kill Bill 3, in which Nikki seeks revenge against The Bride. Seventeen years after the release of Kill Bill Vol. 1, fans still haven’t stopped wanting more from the martial arts epic.

Of course, this isn’t simply a case of fans always wanting more. Over the years since both Kill Bill volumes have been released, Quentin Tarantino has continuously kept the possibility of Kill Bill 3 alive, even teasing specifics about a potential plot. By far the most popular theory, however, is that the story would focus on the daughter of Vernita “Copperhead” Green (Vivica A. Fox). As the first member of the Deadly Viper Assassination Squad to meet her fate at the hands of The Bride (Uma Thurman), Green was survived by her young daughter Nikki. In fact, Nikki witnessed the actual killing of her mother. The Bride acknowledged this by telling the child that if she still felt “raw” about it once she grew up, that she would be waiting for her. A story in which the adult Nikki pursues The Bride is generally accepted by fans of the films as the ideal setup for Kill Bill: Vol. 3.

Tarantino has previously said that he has been waiting for Ambrosia Kelley, who played Nikki, to age enough to pull the role off. At this point, Kelley is 25 years old, and many Kill Bill fans feel as though the time for a sequel is now. Adding to this momentum is a new bit of fan art from Instagram user BossLogic, in which Spider-Man: Far From Home star Zendaya takes on the Nikki role. The end result is a Kill Bill 3 poster that could fool even the most informed Tarantino fan into believing that this is the real deal. The original Instagram post can be seen below:

Should Tarantino stick to his promised ten film limit, there exists a certain percentage of fans who don’t want to see the acclaimed filmmaker make Kill Bill 3 his final film. But beyond these objectors, this new @bosslogic contribution will likely set off further divisiveness between those who think that Zendaya and not Kelley should play Nikki. It was, in fact, Vivica A. Fox who originally suggested the young actress portray her onscreen daughter in a third Kill Bill film. But as fitting as Zendaya seems for the character in the above poster, it is perhaps too difficult for some to imagine someone as specific and dedicated to his characters as Tarantino is, waiting this long simply to replace the original actor. Still, the poster does an excellent job of providing a visual for a film that could one day actually exist.

Over the years, Hollywood has transformed itself into a veritable sequel factory. Every film that exists seems to have some sort of demand behind it for a sequel – regardless of whether it’s merited or not. Sequels can definitely be fun and worth waiting for, but in the case of a Kill Bill 3, another lengthy revenge film isn’t exactly the most intriguing thing that Tarantino could put his time and energy into. This seems especially true after the different and yet excellent direction that he went in with Once Upon A Time in Hollywood. Impressive fan art aside, Tarantino’s fans deserve something bigger and better should his tenth film truly be his last.
