Speed hackers are being banished from Fall Guys almost as quickly as they plagued the servers, to the point where players are no longer required to report cheaters. These large waves of bans have taken the burden off of players' shoulders, who can now return to playing Fall Guys without dealing with meddling players who need cheats to get crowns. Fall Guys was also beset by server issues during its first week, another issue that Mediatonic continues to grapple with.
It's no surprise that hackers found their way into Fall Guys so early, as the game had a massive launch week, making it the biggest launch of a Devolver Digital game thus far. Due to the game's wacky multiplayer rounds and relaxed gameplay, Fall Guys skyrocketed in popularity, bringing in over 1.5 million unique players on day one. But as it is with every bag of jelly beans, a few bad beans ruined the taste for everyone.
The official Fall Guys Twitter addressed the use of hacks on August 9th, stating that Mediatonic was aware of the issue and that it was working to fix it. Two days later, on August 11th, Fall Guys announced that it would no longer be necessary to report players who were cheating due to a fix to the game's cheat detection. Mediatonic reported a large drop in the number of cheaters since tuning the game's detection criteria, and also thanked players who have been playing the game fairly.
Fall Guys was infiltrated by speed hackers early during the first week after the game's launch. These cheaters plagued the servers and were caught by streamers and content creators who posted their encounters to Twitter. The cheaters were using their hacks during games to increase their speed and clip through walls, giving them an unfair advantage over other players. Until Mediatonic implemented its latest anti-cheat, players had to report hackers manually to get them banned.
The fact of the matter is, if a jelly bean has to cheat to reach the top of Fall Mountain, they don't deserve a crown. Cheaters ruin the fun for everyone else involved, and it's great to see Mediatonic stepping up to the plate so quickly to deal with these problems. After a series of server issues the first few days after the game's launch, dealing with an abundance of hackers isn't something anyone would want to have to solve, but Mediatonic got straight to work tackling another issue, and Fall Guys is seeing more fair play once again.
