Pokémon GO Community Day Mock Poll Shows That Everyone Loves Porygon

A mock poll was held to see who players favored as the next two Pokémon GO Community Day monsters, and the test made it pretty clear that Pokémon GO trainers love Porygon. Players will be able to vote again soon during the real poll and will choose from four different Pokémon: Porygon, Charmander, Grimer, Caterpie. The two winning Pokémon in the actual poll will go on to be featured during the  September and October Pokémon GO Community Days.

A week ago, Pokémon GO announced the four Pokémon that players would be able to vote for in its upcoming Community Days poll, and even then the replies to the tweet made it pretty obvious who the community wanted to see featured. This will not be the first time that Pokémon GO has allowed the community to vote for the featured Community Day Pokémon. The community also chose who they wanted to see during the June and July Community Days, which ended up being Weedle and Gastly.

Today, the official Pokémon GO Twitter held a mock poll to test how players would vote if the real poll were held right now. At the time of writing, the poll still has one hour left, but the results are already telling. With over 100,000 Twitter users participating, 59 percent of voters have chosen Porygon while 32 percent are voting for Charmander. If the mock poll mirrors the results of the real vote, players can expect to see Porygon featured in September and Charmander in October.

Sadly, Caterpie and Grimer have only received around four percent of the votes each. Many players are upset with the large show of support for Charmander, as he has already had a Community Day event in May of 2018, but others are justifying their decision based on not having been Pokémon GO players during that time, and thus having missed the first event. If Charmander were to win one of the two slots, which seems likely given the mock poll standings, it will be the only Pokémon to be featured during two Community Days.

Regardless, trainers are showing their love for Porygon, who is currently dominating the poll. Porygon is rather rare in Pokémon GO and its shiny form would be new to the game, so it only makes sense that the digital monster would be so far in the lead. Despite the bickering its spawn in the comments, allowing the players to vote for Community Day Pokémon is a really cool move on Niantic's part. It is also great that the top two get a spot in the limelight, giving even the first runner-up a day to shine.
