What's Next For Jimmy Woo In The MCU After WandaVision

Jimmy Woo's (Randall Park) delightful return as a supporting character in WandaVision has left fans wondering what's next for him in the MCU. Jimmy made his debut in Ant-Man and the Wasp as the FBI agent tasked with looking after Scott while he's on house arrest. His moments of comedic relief were enough for the MCU to bring him back in WandaVision as one of the agents investigating the Hex around Westview.

In WandaVision, Jimmy's missing person case brought him to Westview, New Jersey. His path merged with S.W.O.R.D.'s ongoing investigation of the Maximoff Anomaly. He became a valued member of the team until S.W.O.R.D. Director Hayward expelled him, Darcy Lewis (Kat Dennings), and Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parris) from the site for questioning his directives and for being the only ones outside the Hex intent on helping Wanda and Vision. Leading up to the WandaVision  season 1 finale, Jimmy remains on the other side of the Hex. The final episode of the Marvel series will likely see Jimmy coming to the aid of Wanda and his friends.

But after that, Jimmy's future in the MCU remains unclear. At the time of writing, there are currently no plans to bring Jimmy back to future projects. But given how well-received Park's Marvel return in WandaVision has been, those plans will likely change soon. Here are some ways in which Jimmy could return once again.

Some fans have rallied around the idea of bringing Jimmy back in a potential Agents of Atlas Disney+ show. The comic book storyline follows Jimmy loosely following in the steps of Nick Fury as he leads a group of Asian superheroes. The team originally debuted in 1978's What If #9, but made a return in 2019's War of the Realms Marvel comics storyline. Marvel has been making strides in terms of representation, and this would be a huge step forward. Not to mention, it would provide an opportunity for stories of diverse characters like Shang-Chi (Simu Liu) to be woven deeper into the thread of the MCU.

Even if an Agents of Atlas show never happens, it'd be simple to bring Jimmy back to the MCU. Strange and law-bending events constantly occur in the MCU, so a movie or show could easily incorporate Jimmy as the investigating agent. The most obvious way to bring Jimmy back would be in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, as it was the franchise in which he made his MCU debut. Plot details are still largely being kept under wraps at this point, so he could very well be a part of that movie.

There's ample opportunity to bring him back in other projects as well. For one, Secret Invasion series will debut on Disney+ in 2022. The story may predominantly revolve around Nick Fury and the Skrulls, but Jimmy actually played a part in the original comics when his work with the Agents of Atlas led to him getting mixed up with the Skrulls. Including Jimmy in the show would be a fun callback to the story's origins. Spider-Man: No Way Home will see Peter caught up in some serious legal trouble or needing to go underground. Considering Jimmy Woo's sympathetic bent for heroes, he'd be the perfect source for Peter Parker to rely on. While his future isn't completely clear, it's safe to assume that WandaVision's massive global-spanning success means that Jimmy Woo will return to the MCU.
