Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl has finally been released into the world, and a new datamine leak has revealed some of the potential characters that could be added to the Smash Bros.-esque fighter as DLC in the future. A lot of hype has been surrounding this newest entry in the platform fighter subgenre, with hopes that it would be able to carve a meaningful space in the hearts of fans. Centering the action around Nickelodeon properties certainly helped the game's prospects upon announcement, intriguing players with the chance to beat up the cartoon characters they grew up watching.
Leading up to the game's release, Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl confirmed a host of popular Nickelodeon characters that would make up the roster for players to choose from. Pulling from a range of shows like Hey Arnold, SpongeBob SquarePants, CatDog and more, the roster selections showed that the developers were willing to go deep into the catalog of Nickelodeon titles to satisfy fans of all ages. Developer GameMill announced that there would be DLC Nickelodeon characters coming to the game post-launch, leaving fans to speculate about what shows the developer would pull characters from next.
Following the game's release today, a datamine leak for Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl was posted to forums (as RockmanBN did on the game's subreddit) that provided some hints at some of the prospective future DLC for the fighting game. Amongst the files were clues of the next batch of characters that could join the game's expansive roster. Keeping in mind that nothing has been officially confirmed by the developers, these are the potential new characters leaked for Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl.
One of the files discovered in the Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl datamine features artwork for Shredder, featured in the classic Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle series. The artwork was hidden behind the code name "cheese," which seems to be a play on words for the villain's name. Another file featured references a new Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl stage centered around Garfield, with an image included that featured floating candy pieces to allude to the famous hunger of the orange cat and a cardboard placeholder of the character standing on one of the stage's platforms.
Also featured in the leaks for Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl is a list of placeholder lines made by the game's announcer that introduces even more Nickelodeon characters that could be added to the roster in future DLC or updates. These voice lines introduce characters like Jimmy Neutron and SpongeBob's Squidward, Plankton and Mr. Krabs. Rocko from Rocko's Modern Life and Tommy Pickles from Rugrats were also included in the leaked Nickelodeon character list.
It must be noted that despite the Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl datamine leak, there has been no confirmation about any of these characters being added to the game, either as DLC or as part of an update, so the addition of any of these characters is purely speculation at the moment. These files could be content that the developers intended to include in the base game and things didn't pan out, or they could actually be the characters that GameMill will add one day down the line. Nevertheless, the concepts and ideas included in the datamine leak should offer fans a lot of excitement for what potential future characters could be added to Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl's roster.
Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl is available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
