Jurassic World Evolution 2: How to Repair Buildings & Fences

The ability to repair buildings and fences in Jurassic World Evolution 2 is extremely important to keeping park operations running smoothly. Structures can be damaged in several ways, whether by powerful JWE2 dinosaur species trying to escape or by bad weather causing damage to enclosures and allowing creatures to roam freely. There are some defenses that can be researched on the Tech Tree by scientists in-game to help avoid damage to enclosures, but accidents are bound to happen no matter what.

If damage does happen, and Jurassic World Evolution 2's dinosaurs are able to escape their enclosures, this can be bad for players. Dinosaurs can cause panic, harm visitors, and even damage other buildings. They can also escape completely, reducing the number of attractions in the park. If dinosaurs do harm visitors, park popularity will suffer for a while, reducing income for a period of time and slowing JWE2 game progress.

There are a couple of ways to deal with damaged fences and structures in Jurassic World Evolution 2, and they both have benefits and drawbacks. One is to send staff to fix the damaged structure, and the other is to simply demolish and then rebuild it. While repairing can be a bit more resource-efficient, destroying and rebuilding can save time in some cases and keep staff less inundated.

The primary way of repairing buildings and fences in Jurassic World Evolution 2 is to send rangers to fix them. To do this, players simply have to select a ranger and pan over to the target structure, instructing them to repair it. The downside is that this will take the ranger away from whatever they were doing before, whether that is repairing another structure or keeping an eye on dinosaurs. Dinosaurs left unattended may become a problem if things take too long, so it is a good idea to have surplus rangers dedicated to repairs if at all possible. Alternatively, if a ranger is going to take a while on a repair, players can rotate in rangers from other enclosures to ensure that no dinosaurs are left unsupervised for too long.

The other way of handling damage, specifically for fences, is to simply demolish the damaged fence and then rebuild it. This saves a ton of time and requires no rangers to be pulled off of their post. This obviously is not an optimal choice for actual buildings, as it would cost far more time and resources than simply repairing them, and is not even close to a worthwhile investment.

If fences are being damaged too frequently by dinosaurs in Jurassic World Evolution 2, players should check whether they have the proper food and tailored environment, whether they've been given ranger attention, and whether they are sick or have unhealed injuries. All of these can cause dinosaurs to break out of an enclosure. If everything is in order, dinosaurs can still try to break fences, but will do so much less often.
