Real Housewives Of Potomac: Why Wendy Is Accused Of Trying Too Hard

After Dr. Wendy Osefo's receipts reveal at The Real Housewives of Potomac reunion, she is being accused of trying too hard to grab the spotlight. Wendy attempted to replicate Monique Samuels's iconic receipt book from the season 5 reunion. Instead, Wendy pulled out a giant-sized printout of her text message conversation with Robyn Dixon, plus a few regular-sized printouts of her phone logs with Gizelle Bryant. Andy Cohen wasn't impressed and told Wendy the unnecessary receipts were nothing like Monique's binder.

Wendy has already been facing criticism from the cast and viewers, as they think she changed in season 6 in an attempt to become more likable. Wendy started wearing more revealing clothes and twerking around in scenes, in ways that season 5's Wendy would have never done. However, Wendy, who is no stranger to the backlash, claims she is finally being her true self and doesn't want to be confined by labels on who she is supposed to be as a wife, mother, and businesswoman. However, onlookers are calling "Zen Wen's" bluff. Gizelle and Robyn were the first to call out Wendy's changed behavior. Ashley Darby has also agreed that something has been different with Dr. Wendy.

Wendy made what she was doing pretty obvious during part three of the season 6 reunion when she began pulling out her receipts. Everyone was shocked when Wendy pulled out a giant screenshot of her text message conversation with Robyn, in order to prove she knew about the cheating rumors about her husband. However, the reveal didn't produce the same results that Monique Samuels received with her scathing book of receipts in season 5. Even Andy couldn't hide his disappointment over Wendy's lackluster receipt reveal. Over on Twitter, viewers couldn't stop sounding off about the failed shady moment. "Wendy is giving FORCED. She's trying her best to land something, anything chile," Blabbing Bravo said.

One fan, craffingKelley, responded and made note of something Wendy revealed in Dave Quinn's Housewives tell-all book, "Not All Diamonds and Rosé." "In the "Not All Diamonds and Rosé" book about the Housewives, Wendy is quoted saying that Candiace gave her the best advice, which was to always find your moment/make a moment. But Wendy! You are coming across as a try-hard and it is not working for you!" they said. The honest assessments from viewers reflect exactly what Andy was hinting at with his response to Wendy's receipts. It didn't come off as authentic as Monique's reunion moment. It came off more like she was hoping to have a moment. The one thing any true Housewives fan values is authenticity. If someone is putting on a persona, it's only a matter of time before the viewers catch on and sound off about it.

Wendy will have to carry on her new persona into season 7. Despite all the criticism she's received in season 6, she has remained one of the more talked about cast members this season. If that is what she was going for, then the mission was completed. Whether they're talking negatively or positively, they're talking, which is typically what a reality star aims for. The Real Housewives of Potomac certainly has people talking. The four-part reunion has revealed a number of completely failed friendships. It doesn't look like rumor-plagued Wendy will be on good terms with Gizelle and Robyn next season. If newcomer Mia Thornton returns, she will have little to no friends on the cast.
