The latest poster for Spider-Man: No Way Home features Spidey and Doctor Strange standing against Electro's redesigned powers. After months of fans hounding Sony for more information on the latest Spider-Man movie, new details are arriving at a steady pace ahead of its December debut. Directed by Jon Watts, Spider-Man: No Way Home once again stars Tom Holland as beloved web-slinger Peter Parker and finds him facing his biggest crisis yet. The previous movie, 2019's Spider-Man: Far From Home, saw Peter's identity revealed to the world as a result of Mysterio's (Jake Gyllenhaal) machinations, and now he has to deal with the consequences.
Or, he does until he can find a better solution. As the first Spider-Man: No Way Home trailer revealed, Peter will turn to Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) for help when the pressure of having his identity known to others gets to be too much. Doctor Strange has a spell for him, but it quickly goes awry and opens the door for a multiversal crisis. Spider-Man: No Way Home will feature the returns of actors from past Spider-Man franchises, with Alfred Molina (Doc Ock in Spider-Man 2) and Jamie Foxx (Electro in The Amazing Spider-Man 2) being among those officially confirmed.
Electro factors into the latest poster for Spider-Man: No Way Home. Shared online by Sony Pictures as part of the confirmation that the second trailer will arrive tomorrow, the poster finds Spider-Man standing alongside Doctor Strange as New York City twists and turns around them. While Doc Ock's tentacles close in on the heroes and Green Goblin can be spotted flying in the background, Electro's new yellow powers flare at the bottom of the sheet. Check it out down below.
The Amazing Spider-Man 2's depiction of Electro drew some criticism from dedicated comic book fans because it turned his usually yellow powers blue. When Foxx boarded Spider-Man: No Way Home last year, he confirmed he wouldn't be blue, hinting at a major redesign from one movie to the next. The above poster is the best glimpse so far at his new powers, though fans will have to wait a bit longer to see Foxx's full look. Perhaps it will arrive in tomorrow's Spider-Man: No Way Home trailer.
This poster, much like the first that arrived last week, does an interesting job of hyping up the villains of Spider-Man: No Way Home. While the roles of those like Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire remain up in the air, Marvel has been more willing to confirm the returning rogues. Holland's Spider-Man will be tested more than ever before thanks to villains like Electro and Doc Ock, and it'll be exciting to see how this helps him grow as a hero. Spider-Man: No Way Home is certainly shaping up to be a Spidey movie unlike any other, and that's a very thrilling thing.
