Avengers 4 Reshoots: Chris Hemsworth Headed to Set, Benedict Wong Already There

Marvel stars Chris Hemsworth (Thor) and Benedict Wong (Wong) are confirmed to take part in the ongoing Avengers 4 reshoots. While fans are busy either still trying to figure out what the movie's title is going to be or obsessing over the recently released Captain Marvel trailer, directors Joe and Anthony Russo and their cast and crew are back in Atlanta for the still-untitled film's scheduled reshoots. The God of Thunder, Thor, and Doctor Strange's trusted companion, Wong, are the latest ones to join the group doing additional work for the film.

It's been over three years since the core Avengers came together for a single mission in Avengers: Age of Ultron. While most of the team got involved in Tony Stark and Steve Rogers' conflict in Captain America: Civil War, Thor and Bruce Banner/Hulk saved themselves from some major drama, and went on their own adventure in Thor: Ragnarok. Avengers: Infinity War, on the other hand, kept all of them (except Hawkeye who was under house arrest) mostly separated. But with Hemsworth now heading to Atlanta, it seems like the re-assembly of the six original Avengers is already locked down.

Hemsworth, who was busy filming for Sony's Men in Black spinoff alongside his Ragnarok co-star, Tessa Thompson (Valkyrie), revealed through his IG stories (video included below) that they have finished the London leg of the film and are now moving to other locations. But before that, he's headed back to Atlanta to join the rest of his Avengers pals for the ongoing Avengers 4 reshoots. Prior to his post, many were wondering whether or not he'd participate in the reshoots, considering that all of his Phase 1 castmates were already back on the set. As for Thompson, it's unclear if she's also headed to Atlanta for the reshoots, as her involvement in the still-untitled film still isn't confirmed.

Wong, on the other hand, also took to his official Instagram account and revealed that he's already back for reshoots. In the image he posted, it seems like he was already done for the day and getting his prosthetics off. With Strange supposedly dead, it's unclear how Wong would factor into the Earth's Mightiest Heroes' final attempt to take down Thanos. But given his vast knowledge of the Infinity Stones, not to mention his mastery of the mystic arts, he could be a good source of information that will help the Avengers figure out how to undo the catastrophe brought by the Mad Titan's snap.

Aside from making necessary changes needed to better the film, the reshoots will also include additional work required to finish Avengers 4's story. It's worth recalling that Infinity War and its sequel were filmed back-to-back last year, only wrapping up in January. So far, a couple of set photos have made it online giving fans a look at some of the returning heroes. It seems like most of the actors returning to the set are the ones who survived the snap, although it's no secret that several, if not all of the dusted heroes will be brought back to life one way or another. Fans are expected to finally know more about the secretive movie once official marketing begins towards the end of the year.
