Chris Hemsworth leaves Atlanta with his Thor: Ragnarok co-star Tessa Thompson after wrapping up his part in the ongoing Avengers 4 reshoots. There's eight months to go before Marvel Studios wraps up the 22-film narrative that it's been unfolding since 2008's Iron Man, and yet, not much is still known with regard to the film's plot specifics. Official marketing for the movie won't start until the end of the year, with much of the studio's promotional efforts focused on Captain Marvel, which hits theaters a little less than two months before Avengers 4.
The God of Thunder is expected to be a significant factor in the Avengers' second bout against Thanos in the still-untitled sequel. And although Hemsworth arrived on set a bit later than his Phase 1 co-stars, the actor eventually rejoined directors Joe and Anthony Russo in finishing the much anticipated movie. But just as quickly as he arrived in Atlanta a couple days ago, Hemsworth has now departed the location. He left just as he arrived, with Thompson in tow, further fanning rumor flames that Valkyrie will also appear in the Phase 3 capper.

Hemsworth recently uploaded a fresh set of Instagram stories that reveal he's finished his part in the Avengers 4 reshoots, and is on his way back to Europe to continue filming Sony's Men in Black spinoff. With him is Thompson, who came along with him to Atlanta just last Friday. And while he didn't explicitly say that she was also there for the Marvel flick, he hilariously trolled her about the notion that she was doing reshoots for the Creed sequel instead. The video of Hemsworth announcing his departure can be seen below.
Aside from the implication that Valkyrie will be back for Avengers 4, it's also interesting how quick her and Hemsworth's trip to Atlanta was. It's possible that Marvel Studios is working around the filming schedule for the Men in Black spinoff, which both actors were previously busy with before coming to Atlanta. It's important to note that Avengers 4 reshoots were initially reported to start early in the summer and end by September, but instead, it only began earlier this month and is expected to last the whole fall. Considering the number of actors involved in the movie, it's tricky to wrangle everyone at the same time with their varying schedules.
Additionally, Hemsworth looks nothing like Thor with his barely-there facial hair, also presumably for Men in Black. Of course, it's a possibility that Marvel Studios resorted to the use of prosthetics, but given how controversial facial hair during reshoots is in the comic book movie genre following Justice League's Superman mustache kerfuffle, the Russos will have to make sure that it's not jarring if they decide to go that route. Obviously, it's unclear whether the two had to shoot something together or separately. But given that Valkryie became the interim leader of the surviving Asgardians while Thor went on his mission to finish off Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War, it's likely that Valkyrie's involvement in Avengers 4 will have something to do with the God of Thunder.
