Mondo Gallery Celebrating 10 Years Of The MCU With New & Returning Art

The Mondo Gallery in Austin, Texas plans on celebrating 10 years of the Marvel Cinematic Universe with a special exhibition. Marvel Studios: The First Ten Years will focus on the 20 movies that make up the current MCU and will feature art previously displayed at the gallery, along with many never before seen pieces.

Mondo is a company that creates limited edition screen printed posters for some of the biggest movies, TV shows and comics in pop culture. The company also creates unique artwork for vinyl movie soundtracks and reissues of VHS releases, as well as for clothing and toys. Mondo has a gallery in Austin dedicated exclusively to the pieces that its artists create. Past exhibits have been dedicated to Universal monsters, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Batman: The Animated Series and Game of Thrones. The gallery has also featured work from Aaron Horkey, Ken Taylor, Drew Struzan and Tyler Stout.

Now, Mondo has announced a new exhibit dedicated exclusively to the MCU. Marvel Studios: The First Ten Years will feature entirely new art by some of Mondo's best artists, as well as art from previous displays. Covering the first 20 movies in the MCU, fans can expect to see art dedicated to some of the most iconic heroes and villains of the MCU. Mondo creative director Eric Garza said:

“As a devourer of pop culture with a heavy lean on movies and comics, the Marvel Cinematic Universe is the ultimate dessert. What Marvel Studios has accomplished over the last ten years is nothing short of remarkable. They’ve given us heroes that are big and small, mighty and cosmic while telling incredible stories that are often sweepingly epic while at the same time nuanced and personal. We are incredibly excited to celebrate ten years of monumental filmmaking and characters courtesy of the mighty Marvel Studios. Make Mine Marvel!”

Although the MCU already has a decade under its belt, it doesn't show any sign of stopping soon. Not only will the studio wrap up its third phase with Captain Marvel and Avengers 4, it will begin introducing new stories and heroes with its fourth phase, which kicks off next summer with Spider-Man: Far From Home. With Avengers 4 changing the MCU forever, there are only rumors on where Marvel will take fans next, but it does seem like the company has a definitive plan on continuing the MCU for as long as it can.

In the meantime, there are also plenty of Marvel TV shows to keep fans happy, including the most recent season of Iron Fist and the upcoming season of Daredevil, along with second seasons of Cloak and Dagger and Runaways. It's also been reported that Disney will launch new Marvel shows on its forthcoming streaming subscription service.

Mondo has a good history of creating a lot of gorgeous Marvel artwork, so it only makes sense that Mondo's permanent art space in Austin would create an exhibit for fans of those pieces. The exhibition kicks off on October 12 and will run through October 20.
