When Will The Avengers 4 Title Be Revealed?

When will the Avengers 4 title finally be revealed? It shouldn't be too much longer from now. Back in 2014, it was announced that Marvel Studios would be releasing Avengers: Infinity War - Part 1 in May 2018 and Avengers: Infinity War - Part 2 a year later, in May 2019. Now that the first movie has already released, everyone is looking forward to next year's team-up film, which comes from directors Anthony and Joe Russo, as well as screenwriters Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely.

Given that Marvel Studios decided to separate the two Avengers films into their own, standalone adventures, that meant Avengers 4 dropping the title of Infinity War (and being the second part in that specific story arc). And the studio initially refrained from revealing the new title because they thought it would spoil the story, but that particular reason has been blown out of proportion, according to studio head Kevin Feige. Since the first Avengers 4 trailer should be releasing later this year - perhaps in November - that means the studio needs to reveal the movie's title before.

Going based on past reveals and announcements, as well as Marvel Studios' current marketing plans for Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck's Captain Marvel, it seems that the Avengers 4 title reveal will come in October, most likely in the latter half of the month. September is being reserved for Captain Marvel's introduction and November is presumably being held for the Avengers 4 trailer. It doesn't make sense to bundle something as big as the movie's title with the first trailer; there needs to be some time for the title reveal to settle before the first footage releases.

Furthermore, there's actually a precedent for Marvel Studios making big reveals around that time in October. Years ago, the acclaimed studio opted to hold an independent event outside the traditional conventions and expos to announce their full Phase 3 lineup, including - at that time - Captain America: Civil War, Black Panther, and even Inhumans (before it was relegated to the small screen). It was also when they announced that the final two Avengers movies, as part of the MCU's first saga, would release in two parts. But that quickly changed. Wouldn't it be somewhat gratifying for fans if Marvel announced the actual title of Avengers 4 on the same day (October 28) - four years later?

It's unlikely that Marvel Studios will hold another special event just to announce the movie's title, but it's possible that they could do so to reveal the lineup for Phase 4. After all, the only movie that's confirmed to release post-Avengers 4 right now is Spider-Man: Far From Home. Sure, there are plenty of movies in development, such as the solo Black Widow spinoff as well as the recently-confirmed Eternals movie, but it's unclear what the future of the MCU will look like after Avengers 4. Another event to announce the lineup isn't out of the question, though right now fans mostly just want to find out what the title of the next Avengers movie will be.
