Which of Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy actors could join James Gunn at rival DC Films? Recently, the DC Extended Universe received a welcome shot of excitement when they announced Gunn had signed on to write (and possibly direct) Suicide Squad 2. Gunn was beloved by the actors who worked with him in the Guardians of the Galaxy films and some of them could very well follow the controversial writer-director to DC.
At present, only two Guardians are alive in the MCU - Rocket and Nebula - with the rest falling victim to Thanos' snap. However, they're all expected to be resurrected in next year's Avengers 4 and, indeed, most actors are known to be contracted for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. However, that doesn't mean they could also follow the fired Gunn to his Suicide Squad project.

For his part, Gunn was very popular among the cast he's worked with, and the director has a history of casting the same actors in multiple films. If Gunn has a say in who plays whom in Suicide Squad 2 (especially if he ends up directing the sequel), here are the Guardians of the Galaxy actors most likely to answer his call.
Dave Bautista
Dave Bautista has been the most vocal supporter of James Gunn amongst the Guardians of the Galaxy cast. Not only has Big Dave publicly called out Disney, when Gunn was announced as Suicide Squad 2's writer, Bautista immediately tweeted "Where do I sign up!" Though the former WWE Champion is reportedly contracted for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3., there's little doubt he would leap at the chance to join Gunn at DC - and the role fans most want Bautista to play is Bane.

Michael Rooker
Michael Rooker is another James Gunn loyalist - the actor has worked on five films with the director and they are dear friends. In fact, Rooker quit Twitter to protest how Gunn was treated by Disney and the role the social media platform played in Gunn's firing. Since Yondu is dead and unlikely to be resurrected in the MCU, it's very likely Gunn has an all-new role in mind for Rooker in Suicide Squad 2.
Sean Gunn
Sean and James Gunn can't get much closer - they are brothers, after all. James cast Sean in several of the films he's written and directed like Super and The Belko Experiment. In the Guardians of the Galaxy films, Sean played a crucial dual role: he not only played Kraglin of the Ravagers, but he also performed the motion capture as the on-set Rocket. There's little doubt James will find a role for his little brother in Suicide Squad 2, especially if the elder Gunn directs the film.
Elizabeth Debicki
Gunn cast Elizabeth Debicki as Ayesha, the High Priestess of the Sovereign, in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 and he may want to work with the Australian actress once again. Debicki herself is no stranger to Warner Bros; she played the villain in The Man From U.N.C.L.E. opposite DC's former Superman, Henry Cavill. There's also no shortage if female DC heroines and villains Debicki could be right for.

Kurt Russell
The legendary Kurt Russell played Star-Lord's father and surprise big bad, Ego, in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. For his part, Russell defended Gunn after Disney fired him, saying that the beleaguered filmmaker "has a wonderful heart and a wonderful mind." That sounds like Russell would be happy to work with Gunn again in the DCEU.
Michael Rosenbaum
Michael Rosembaum is another good friend of James Gunn. The director cast him as Martinex, one of the Ravagers in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. Of course, he is no stranger to the DC Universe - he played Lex Luthor on Smallville and many fans want Rosenbaum to play Luthor once again on Supergirl. However, Gunn may have another role in mind for Rosenbaum in the DCEU.
Sylvester Stallone
Casting Sylvester Stallone as Stakar Ogord in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 was a coup for James Gunn. While the director originally intended for Stakar's MCU story to continue, his ousting by Disney may have scrapped any further plans for Stallone's character. But the screen legend may just follow James Gunn to Suicide Squad 2 instead.
