Anyone familiar with the original Pokemon games from the Game Boy era will know full well about the consumer-created lore surrounding the mythical Mew, and you can get one in Pokemon Let's Go Eevee and Pikachu. The creature who's DNA led to the creation of the all-powerful Mewtwo had a number of rumors circulating in regards to how players could go about catching the beast, with the most popular being to look under a truck on an island near the S.S. Anne. Of course, the creature has become much more accessible in recent years, and that remains the case in Pokemon Let's Go Eevee and Pikachu.
For those unaware, Mew isn't actually found roaming the wilds of the Kanto region in Pokemon Let's Go Eevee and Pikachu. Instead, Mew comes inside the Pokeball Plus accessory that gamers can purchase separately (or with) the new games. While the means of obtaining the Pokemon appears straightforward after this bit of knowledge, the process of transferring Mew over may leave trainers with a few questions – hence this guide.

In order to transfer Mew over, aspiring Pokemon Masters will have to first defeat their rival in a battle. This takes place right near the beginning of the game, and after the opposing trainer has been dealt with players will see an icon appear on the game's main menu. Called a "Mystery Gift," fans familiar with the franchise's previous iterations will know exactly how this option works.
For those less privy, simply make sure that the Nintendo Switch console is connected to the internet and select the "Get with a Poke Ball Plus". Doing so will transfer Mew over into the actual game, and from there players can utilize it in battles within Pokemon Let's Go Eevee and Pikachu. It's only at Level 1 when trainers receive it, which means that it will require a lot of training in order for its full potential to be realized. Still, players will have the mythical Mew, and the monster has always been more of a show piece that helps round out the in-game Pokedex rather than a truly competitive Pokemon.
Hopefully an event or promotion will occur in the near future that will allow players access to Mew in Pokemon Let's Go Eevee and Pikachu without the need for the Pokeball Plus accessory. With the eight generation Pokemon games arriving in 2019 though, it's likely that this will be the only way to secure Mew.
