Spider-Man Game Developer Responds to Complaints Over Spider-Verse Suit

The developers at Insomniac Games behind Marvel's Spider-Man responded to complaints about the Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse suit that will soon be added to the game. Spider-Man has only been out for a few months, yet Insomniac Games has already released two DLC's for the game, with a third titled Silver Lining set to debut on December 21. Along with the return of Silver Sable, Silver Lining will allow players to unlock three new Spidey-suits; Cyborg Spider-Man suit, Aaron Aikman armor suit, and Peter Parker's Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse suit.

At the beginning of Spider-Man, gamers play as Peter Parker in a classic-looking outfit, before upgrading to a Spidey suit that was specifically designed for Insomniac Games' newest title. While gamers start off with these two suits, they eventually get the opportunity to unlock nearly 30 different Spidey suits ranging from several different eras of the web-slinger's history. Some of the outfits included suits from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Spider-Man Noir, and even a vintage suit made to look like a 2D comic book character. While most fans have loved having the ability to swing around New York in different suits, Insomniac Games has gotten some criticism for the types of costumes they have included - or rather the ones they left out.

To celebrate the release of Sony's Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse movie, Insomniac Games announced that Peter Parker's red and blue suit from the movie would soon be available in the game. One of their followers on Twitter commented that instead of this suit, Insomniac Games should have chosen to add in Miles Morales' Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse suit or even the Spider-Man suit from Sam Raimi's original Spider-Man trilogy. Insomniac Games was quick to respond by asking, "Why would Peter wear Miles's suit?" Fans then quickly snapped back that the game already includes two 2099 suits and two Scarlet Spider costumes that were worn by different characters, to which Insomniac Games replied, "Because in our universe those characters do not have Spider powers. And Parker builds lots of designs." Both Tweets can be seen in full below:

Insomniac Games gave fans a decent selection of suits when the game first launched, but they added three more suits when they released the first DLC called The Heist. The Heist was the first of the three DLC that were part of the expansion pack titled Spider-Man: The City that Never Sleeps. The first DLC gave fans a new storyline revolving around Black Cat and also introduced the following suits: Resilient Suit, Scarlet Spider II, and the Spider-UK. The second DLC, Turf Wars, introduced the villain Hammerhead along with the Spider-Armor MK I, the Spider-Clan suit, and the classic Iron Spider Armor.

Even though fans are irritated that Insomniac Games still hasn't added in a Miles Morales' suit, it is possible that they haven't given the real reason why they won't include one in Spider-Man. While the game has included costumes worn by Ben Reilly and Miguel O'Hara, neither of these characters have been introduced in the game thus far. Miles on the other hand, was heavily featured in Spider-Man, leading many to believe that the sequel will let players swing around New York as Miles himself. It is completely possible that Insomniac Games is saving the Miles Morales suit for a sequel, but as of right now, fans will just have to play with the long list of suits that are currently available in the game.
