Pokemon: Detective Pikachu is finally being shown to reporters, and the first reactions to the film have been largely positive. While movies based on video games have always struggled to be anything more than mediocre at best, it looks like Detective Pikachu is largely charming the first folks to see it. While there are a few dissenters who found the story a little slow, the consensus seems to be that at the very least, the film provides a world you’d love to inhabit and it should be a delight for Pokemon fans.
