Aaron Carter Reportedly Screams at Judge After He’s Forced to Surrender His Guns

In a California court earlier this week, former pop star Aaron Carter was ordered by a judge to surrender his firearms. Carter, it seems, did not take this news very well.

This is not Carter's first legal trouble. Over the years the former House of Carters star has had multiple well-publicized drug-related arrests. He addressed those arrests, along with issues of drug use, on multiple appearances on the health-focused talk show The Doctors. In 2017, he weighed in at only 115lbs which had friends, family, and Aaron himself concerned. At the time he tested negative for illegal drugs but tested positive for a dangerous combination of prescription drugs and was advised to enter a drug treatment program. During a later appearance in 2019, the singer revealed that he did attend rehab but it was in fact huffing that was his drug of choice. During the second appearance, Carter had put on weight and looked healthier, however, he revealed a myriad of medical diagnoses he claimed he was being medicated for including multiple personality disorder, schizophrenia, and manic depression.

As TMZ reported, Aaron was ordered to turn over all firearms during a hearing in which the judge granted his twin sister, Angel Conrad, a restraining order. Angel requested the restraining order after saying that Aaron had threated her on the phone claiming he would send hitmen after her. This combined with his social media posts which repeatedly have photos of him posing with firearms and his claims of a schizophrenia diagnosis made her fearful for her safety. The judge agreed. In addition, he was ordered to stay clear of her husband's place of work. When the judge ordered that he turn over his guns, Carter reportedly lashed out and even claimed he would drive to another state if necessary to buy more guns. At one point it is reported Carter got up and threatened to leave before being told to sit down by the judge.

The 31-year-old singer has another restraining order in effect that was granted to his older brother Nick Carter of Backstreet Boys fame. Nick claims he was forced to seek legal protection after Aaron threatened to kill Nick's wife and their then-unborn child. In Nick's request for the order of protection, he claims his younger brother admitted to his sister that he had thoughts of killing babies. Aaron aimed a barrage of angry Twitter posts at his brother, some of which have since been deleted, seemingly denying the claims and expressing that his brother has not tried to be a part of his life. In one post he even said he hasn't seen him in 4 years and has no plans to see him any time soon. Nick has expressed that he and his sister were not happy about the situation but felt strongly the need to protect themselves and their families. The family has shown concern over Aaron's mental health and has said they hope he gets the help he needs.

Aaron's reaction leaves questions about whether or not he will comply with the judge's order or not. Refusal to turn over the weapons would land Carter in even more hot water, which is clearly something he doesn't need. Even if this goes as smoothly as possible, it is clear this family has a long road ahead of them. It is unclear if there is any hope for reconciliation in the future between the estranged siblings, but it doesn't seem likely. With the challenges of a history of drug use and mental health issues, it is clear that Aaron is going to need a lot of help and support that everyone hopes he gets, even if it cannot be from these two siblings.
