Schrute's progression would see him improve his relationships, but the shameless moments still came from him. We are going to take a trip down memory lane where Dwight showed off his worst side and most negative tendencies. Find out just what exactly made him so difficult to work with at Dunder-Mifflin Scranton. These are the top ten most shameless things done by Dwight Schrute on The Office.

10 Tried to sabotage the Michael Scott Paper company

Michael Scott leaving Dunder-Mifflin to start his own company would see Pam as the only one to jump ship with him looking for a new career path. Dwight decided to stay and attempt to win over his new boss Charles Minor.

The war between companies would see Dwight attempt to sabotage Michael on multiple occasions before Michael outmatches him. Dwight turning his back on his former mentor was one of the most savage and surprising actions in the series.

9 Went over Michael's head to Jan

Dwight's relationship with Angela influences him to go against his instincts a few times. One specific moment came when Angela told Dwight to go over Michael’s head and try to get the job as regional manager of the Scranton branch.

Dwight’s plan to visit Jan under the lie of a dental appointment sees her having no interest in his plans and telling Michael all about it. The chain of events ends with Michael exposing Dwight and making him apologize in front of the office.

8 Hid secret microphone in Jim's office

Jim getting promoted to co-manager upsets Dwight enough to start an alliance with Ryan to try to get Jim removed from the position. Dwight gifts Jim a wooden mallard duck that Jim knows right away holds a microphone and uses it to mock Dwight.

However, the later reveal is that Dwight also put a microphone in the pen that recorded all the phone calls Jim had in his office. Dwight learned how to play the long game by conning Jim into thinking he was in control with the decoy duck.

7 Love triangle

Angela dumping Dwight and entering a relationship with Andy broke Dwight’s heart. He'd fallen in love with his co-worker. That doesn’t stop the two from hooking up quite consistently behind Andy’s back. Dwight continues the affair even after Angela gets engaged to Andy.

This is Dwight at his most ruthless, far beyond his usual harmless antics. However, both Andy and Dwight eventually grow tired of Angela’s games when they find out how much she was using them. They even form an unusual friendship after the love triangle ends, but that doesn’t erase Dwight’s shameless actions.

6 Brought a gun into the office

Dwight finally getting his dream gig as the manager of the Scranton branch spirals out of control shortly into his tenure. The decision to walk around with a gun on his hip terrifies the rest of the office. It's a firearm held by someone they don’t trust at all.

Dwight accidentally fires the gun at one point leading to Andy temporarily losing his hearing in one of his ears. Only Dwight could do something this foolish immediately after achieving his goal. Luckily, he does become a manager again years later at the series' end. Without a gun.

5 Trapped a bat in a bag with Meredith’s head

Dwight crossed lines without hesitation when he had to get things done. Dwight took it upon himself to capture a bat that had found its way into the office. Between dealing with Jim pretending to be a vampire and the bat hiding, Dwight needed a game plan.

The plan would see Dwight trap the bat with Meredith’s head in a garbage bag. A comical yet ridiculous scene saw Meredith scream in fear until Dwight finally removed the bag securing the bat inside of it. Dwight smug declaration “you’re welcome” as Meredith looked on in terror perfectly summed it up.

4 Arrived uninvited to dinner party with unusual guest

The hilarious “Dinner Party” episode of The Office featured Dwight getting snubbed since Jan didn't want him there. Dwight is given the excuse that they don’t have enough wine glasses and he doesn’t have a date like the other couples there.

Things get wild when Dwight arrives with his own glasses and his childhood babysitter. If this shameless act wasn’t enough, Dwight also makes his date take the bus home in a dangerous part of town while driving past her.

3 Fired Kevin

Dwight gaining the position of the branch manager for good in the final episodes of the series leads to him firing Kevin as one of his biggest moves. This ruthless decision came after Kevin made too many mistakes that Dwight couldn’t overlook.

Despite doing something that most disliked, it was revealed to be for the best. Dwight’s bachelor party is taken to Kevin’s bar by Jim where the two make peace. Kevin is happy to realize Dwight always liked him and only fired him for pure incompetence.

2 Staged a very scary fire drill

The incredible fire drill scene of The Office sees Dwight stage a very elaborate drill fooling everyone into thinking a real fire is going down with the doors locked or too hot to open. Everyone loses their minds trying to escape and Stanley even has a heart attack.

Dwight shows little remorse as he’s forced to issue an apology to Stanley. Dwight's many antics ranged from harmless to annoying, but this one endangered the lives of everyone involved. It was peak Dwight showing how shameless he could be showing no respect for others.

1 Snow Terror

Dwight and Jim's rivalry typically featured Jim coming out on top using his wits to win out with epic pranks. However, one Christmas themed episode saw Dwight completely dominating the feud in the form of a snowball fight.

Jim hitting Dwight with a snowball made something snap in Dwight. He continued the fight all day long. Dwight destroyed Jim in an ambush outside and continued tormenting him all episode. The final visual of Pam walking a terrified Jim to his car past a set-up of snowmen created by Dwight as Dwight looked on from afar showcased Dwight's ultimate victory.
