The History Channel's hit series Vikings will have its last season air this December. During its run, the show had many characters come and go — usually by dying — but fans stayed faithful and loved every bit of it. These characters, whether protagonists or antagonists, were well-written and fascinating.
The beloved Vikings reminds us of another epic franchise — Harry Potter. What would happen if the Vikings characters made their way to Hogwarts? What houses would they find themselves in? Sorting characters into their Hogwarts houses is always fun, so here are Vikings Characters Sorted Into Hogwarts Houses.
10 Torvi - Hufflepuff
Torvi has always been loved by fans thanks to being a completely non-problematic character. She combines all the best traits someone could have without making it seem like she is too perfect. Nevertheless, Torvi had to go through many hardships including abusive relationships, yet she stayed kind-hearted.
Torvi is a great example of a Hufflepuff. She is a loving wife, a caring mother, a loyal friend, and even a fierce warrior. She is smart and attentive to details, which are some Ravenclaw traits, but most of her personality and actions correspond to that of a Hufflepuff.
9 Aslaug - Slytherin
It's crazy how much fans hated Aslaug. She was the one who "stole" Ragnar from Lagertha, and not many could forgive that — even though Ragnar was responsible for this too. Of course, Aslaug did have some positive traits like being a decent mother, but her negative sides outweigh them.
Aslaug has always been very ambitious and was ready to use any methods to achieve her aims. This is why she is a Slytherin. She wants to be the Queen of Kattegat and have a family with Ragnar. She does compromise with him a few times when it comes to Lagertha, but more often than not, Aslaug always wanted things her own way.
8 Hvitserk - Hufflepuff
Another rare Hufflepuff in this show would have to be Hvitserk. It's not obvious at once, but as you come to know him, you realize that he does fit most of the characteristics of a Hufflepuff. Hvitserk did side with Ivar at some point, but he later realized that he was getting on the wrong side.
Hvitserk is usually kind to anyone he meets. He is caring and even funny at times. He tends to be the optimist in most situations, though he does feel constantly lost and looking for a place in this world. Moreover, Hvitserk looks up to his older brother, who is also a Hufflepuff.
7 Ivar - Slytherin
Ivar's historical prototype is said to have been just as cruel as his TV show counterpart, which is perhaps one of the reasons why Ivar fits perfectly into Slytherin. He is ambitious, nasty, and most of his actions fall into the category of pure evil. He even killed his own brother.
Ivar did have the potential to be a good character all along, but he decided to turn to the dark side. As a kid and then as a teenager, Ivar showed many characteristics of a Gryffindor, but then you could notice him turning into a real Slytherin. You could even say he is Harry Potter if Harry decided to join the serpent house.
6 Ubbe - Hufflepuff
Ubbe, just like Bjorn, is very similar to his father. He shows many traits of a Gryffindor, but he deviates from that house a lot too, which ultimately makes him a Hufflepuff. Ubbe is by far the most compassionate of Ragnar's sons, treating absolutely everyone with kindness. No wonder Hvitserk looks up to him.
Ubbe is the one looking for compromise rather than a fight. He wants to make peace with his enemies and tries to give a better life to the slaves. He is the ultimate good guy who still gets betrayed and has to go through many terrible ordeals.
5 Bjorn - Gryffindor
Bjorn is Ragnar's oldest son, and most like his legendary dad. He possesses the best traits of his parents, Ragnar and Lagertha, and even has some characteristics that his uncle Rollo displays (besides, there is a slim chance he might be, in fact, Rollo's son).
Bjorn is brave and loyal just like any Gryffindor would be. He protects his family and wants to do what's right. He is also skilled in battle, smart and curious about the world, which makes him a bit of a Ravenclaw. In addition to that, he is quite ambitious, which is both a Slytherin and a Gryffindor trait.
4 Floki - Ravenclaw
You could say that the show's oddball, Floki, is a Slytherin, but it would be more logical to consider him as a Ravenclaw. Sure, he has done some questionable things and claims that the Norse god of trickery Loki is his distant relative, but he still mostly appears different from what you would expect a Slytherin to be like.
Floki is extremely talented in ship-building and has a lot of knowledge about many different subjects. He is smart, too, and very loyal to Ragnar. Floki's easy-going nature would make you believe he could be a Hufflepuff, but he is actually a very troubled man who often thinks about dark and serious things.
3 Rollo - Slytherin
Unlike Ivar and Aslaug, Rollo is a Slytherin who you would want to be friends with. He might be impatient and even have some anger issues, but once you get to know him, you realize that he simply wants to be loved and finally get out from under his younger brother's shadow. Ragnar was always the one getting all the attention, so maybe that's why Rollo became so bitter.
Rollo is ambitious and loves fighting. However, he is not as intelligent as Ragnar is. Rollo does betray him, but that ultimately leads to Rollo's happiness with his new wife Gisla and a more peaceful way of life.
2 Lagertha - Ravenclaw
Lagertha is almost the complete opposite of Aslaug. Both women have been Ragnar's lovers and wives, but Lagertha was the one who made Ragnar happier. She is strong, smart, skilled in battle and a great ruler. Despite not being able to bear children, Lagertha cared a lot for Bjorn and Gyda and was a very good mother. In fact, so much so that Bjorn decided to go with her when she left Ragnar.
Lagertha enjoyed being a farmer, but she was ready to help her husband fulfill his ambitions as long as that would make him happy. With time, she also became a queen, but would often want to come back to a simpler life even by trying to settle down in England. Her sharp mind is admired by many men who value her for it, as well as for her beauty and fighting skills.
1 Ragnar - Gryffindor
It might come as a bit of a surprise that Ragnar, the central character of the whole show, was not even based on a historical figure, but it's true. Nevertheless, just like many prominent Vikings, Ragnar has shown the characteristics of a true Gryffindor. He is brave, ambitious, and has a sense of adventure He is a respected leader and a wise ruler.
Ragnar's curiosity about other cultures is a Ravenclaw trait and he also shows some Slytherin characteristics, but it would be a mistake to consider him to be anything else but Gryffindor.
