Filming Jersey Shore no longer makes Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi happy. Last week, she announced that she was stepping down from being part of the fourth season of Jersey Shore: Family Vacation (if there is one).
The MTV reality series, which just celebrated it's ten year anniversary, introduced the world to some of the finest guidos and guidettes Seaside Heights could handle. From fist-pumping to day-drinking, the Polizzi gave a whole new meaning to "I'm going to Jersey Shore, b*tch!" However, it seems that since becoming a mother, Polizzi is no longer interested in the same things.

In a recent interview, she did with The Mel Robbins Show (via Us Weekly), Polizzi says that she is "forcing [herself] to be ‘happy'" when filming for the spin-off series, Jersey Shore: Family Vacation. She explained when she knew she was done filming for good. She revealed, "I think when I was, like, actually forcing myself to be in a situation that I wasn’t happy in...I’m not genuinely happy." Polizzi went on to say the decision wasn't easy, especially having to leave her roomies behind. The family has formed such a tight bond over the last ten years, her struggle to come to a decision is understandable. Polizzi initially claimed that her exit from the show was to spend more time with her family, which is still true.
Ultimately, her happiness was what lead her to make the final decision: "...I had to think about my happiness and where I really wanted myself to be, and it’s being a mom and being [with my] kids and not drama and drinking … and drama." The Jersey Shore: Family Vacation cast are no strangers to drama. In this season alone, we watched Angelina Pavarnick pick fights with Polizzi, amongst others. In one instance, Polizzi up and left the Shore house, which may have been a precursor to her eventual decision to leave the show. While Polizzi hasn't always been at the center of the drama, in light of recent arguments, her decision to step away and be with her kids instead of agreeing to get drunk and end up fighting with one of her dearest friends instead makes a lot of sense.
Polizzi has experienced a lot over the course of Jersey Shore's ten years, including her meatball shenanigans, getting so drunk she couldn't find the beach and eventually meeting Jionni LaValle, who would become her husband. While fans are disappointed in her departure from the show, they're understanding of her desires and situation. As a mother of three and a business owner - she owns a boutique, Snooki Shop - there are certainly other things in life that take priority over drinking down the shore with your friends. Perhaps it's time the rest of the Jersey Shore cast take a step back to stop and smell the roses. We hope that's not the case, but we would understand if it was.
