10 Marvel Avengers Characters Reimagined As Villains (Fan Art)

The MCU has brought the most coveted team of superheroes to the big screen in a way we've never seen before, making some lesser-known characters popular and making the original team of Avengers legendary. They saved the world countless times and are earth's mightiest for a reason, even being able to take down the mad titan Thanos.

However, their good-nature and overall heroic status are compromised by these 10 artists that reimagined the team of heroes to make them villains and become every fan terrified at the prospect of their hero switching sides. Here are 10 Avengers reimagined as villains.

10 Evil Tony - by litretado

What if Tony had never been a good guy? What if he never got traumatized the way he did? Would he have made a good villain? Tumblr user litrado thinks so.

By reimagining the leader of The Avengers with that wicked smile and the red eyes, Tony looks menacing and serves as more of a nightmare than the good man we knew Tony to be. Add in the flames in the background, one can't help but wonder what Tony did or is up to.

A great work of art but not one we'd want to come to life.

9 Hydra Agent Steve Rogers - by juvenile-reactor

In the comics, Steve revealed he had been a Hydra agent the entire time and as expected the fans caused an uproar, and with good reason. Steve is the voice of reason, often the one who stands for truth and justice, always the more rational one.

Juvenille-reactor imagines Steve as an agent of Hydra as if he had been turned by the Germans instead of fighting them like we all know Steve to do. Even though we disapprove of Captain America being anything other than good, we can't help but love the artwork by this Tumblr artist.

8 Cap & Tony Plotting Their Next Evil Plan - by Mizuriofficial

Mizurriofficial also agrees that Steve Rogers in a Hydra costume is truly evil and should be shunned by Marvel fans. Instead of having just one evil hero, he paints the two leaders of the Avengers and the two dividing forces in Captain America: Civil War. We know from a long history of comics that both Tony have a complicated relationship but also a close one.

In this work of art, they are as close as ever, almost looking intimate. Unfortunately, they don't have the best of intentions from the looks of it.

It's a good thing these guys are actually on our side.

7 Evil Spiderman - by Nolan Aung

Spider-man is the epitome of good guys, often choosing to stand up for the little guy and being the relatable and likable Avenger. Maybe it was his upbringing, maybe it was just his personality, but Peter Parker is the farthest thing away from evil, awkward and corny, but otherwise good.

Artist Nolan Aung reimagines Spidey completely, giving him a suit and features to match his newfound evil persona. The creepy red eyes, the black costume, and the big red spider. This is definitely not the Spider-man we're used to seeing.

6 Evil Scarlet Witch - by Mizuri official

Mizurriofficial once again comes with the reimagining of Scarlet Witch as evil. As one of the most powerful beings in the entire Marvel universe, this turn would be catastrophic, maybe even more than Thanos.

With all her great abilities and power, Scarlet Witch can do just about anything imaginable and with the traumatizing events in her life, it wouldn't be easy to blame if she just up and turns to the dark side.

Thankfully we don't have to picture that possibility.

5 Evil Hulk - by  yipzhang5201314

The Hulk is already a giant, green ball of destruction without being a villain but imagine if he was? Would he be even more destructive? Is that even possible? yipzhang5201314 paints the Hulk and titles it "Evil Hulk" and from the looks of it, he really is.

We see the rage like never before, the eyes that tell us he's about to attack. We would hate to be the person on the receiving end of that look.

4 Evil Thor - by penguinoncouch

This next artist took to old-fashioned pen and paper to draw the reimagining of Thor as a villain. Penguinoncouch completely redefines Thor's traditional armor and changes it to look a lot more menacing and villainous.

The spikes, the red cape, the horned helmet, it all points to a very evil Thor with bad intentions. No longer is he the lovable God of thunder we know and love from the MCU.  Everything about this costume screams villain and bad intentions, maybe even making him more intimidating than his brother that's an actual villain.

Although his villain costume is arguably cooler than his original, we still like Thor the way he is.

3 Evil Hawkeye - by begeek.fr

We've seen Hawkeye turn to the dark side before, following the events of Infinity WarIt was not a welcomed sight for longtime MCU fans and the Black Widow herself, but thankfully for us, he found his way back to the good guys and was able to help save the world.

Before that, he was mind-controlled by Loki in the first Avengers movie and turned against SHIELD, proving to be quite a pain for them.

begeek.fr paints Hawkeye as a villain once again, covering his face and giving him an intimidating mask to match the rest of his costume. This is definitely a guy we wouldn't want to see in battle.

2 Hulk The Ruthless Warrior - by thedurrrrian

Like we mentioned before, Hulk as a good guy is destructive enough but imagining him as a villain would leave to an unstoppable ball of rage. In this fan art, thedurrrrian shows Hulk as a warrior, showing off his battle scars and bloody bruises after a battle.

The green eyes look more menacing than ever, the beard makes him look evil for sure, and the scars don't look like he got them fighting a mad titan. The Hulk is not a hero to be trifled with and as a villain that goes double.

1 Evil Ironman - by Moid Nayeem

This last piece by Moid Nayeem shows Iron man as a sort of android, similar to the evil Ultron. The intimidating suit, the nightmare-inducing mask, and the mysterious eye on his chest make this the best interpretation of Iron man.

We are very thankful Tony chose us the good guys and never built a monstrosity like this..on purpose.
