Deadpool Meets Beauty And The Beast: The Best MCU Fan Mashups

For over ten years, the Marvel Cinematic Universe has not only been consistently good in terms of the quality of their movies but also gained a strong fanbase. In turn, these fans have maintained the movies’ popularity with various tributes including mashups.

A term generally used to describe combining different things, mashups often refer to fan-made combinations on the Internet either in art or video format. The reason these are popular is that they fulfill speculations about what would happen if someone like Deadpool were in Disney’s Beauty and the Beast. So here are arguably the best ones out there.

10 Guardians Of The Galaxy Meets Power Rangers In Space

Though this mashup by Carlos Garcia Chapa may not seem like the most obvious choice, it actually fits if one is familiar with both properties. For instance, both involve a group of characters traveling through space in search of something.

In the case of Guardians of the Galaxy, it was to keep an Infinity Stone out of Ronin’s hands. Whereas for Power Rangers in Space, the rangers were trying to find Zordon (the mentor figure from Mighty Morphin). Both properties also have a main character, namely Gamora from GOTG and Andros of PRIS, whose sister is affiliated with the bad guys.

Now, these two characters are about as far apart as one can get, with the former relying on technology and the latter using magic, but what they represent is the same. Because essentially, these characters are wish-fulfillment fantasies for boys and girls to envision themselves as.

On top of that, both have their own ‘transformation sequence’ where Tony Stark gets into his Iron Man suit via a device and Usagi Tsukino uses a pendant to transform into Sailor Moon. Thus, it makes perfect sense for DarkTown Art to combine this Iron Man 2 clip with the Sailor Moon transformation theme song.

8 The Scarlet Witch Meets Harry Potter

While her abilities aren’t magic-related despite her name, the Scarlet Witch can do things that are similar to magic including telekinesis mind-reading and energy blasts. Then given how powerful she is, it makes one wonder how she would fare against someone like Harry Potter.

Ranked among the most powerful wizards in the Wizarding World, Harry Potter’s not only capable of holding his own against the likes of Voldemort but also casting a powerful Patronus. So we have a realization of this speculated scenario created by Salintip Onruang which shows what would happen when traditional magic and ancient cosmic powers go toe-to-toe.

7 Captain America Meets Superman

Despite being in separate universes and having different origin stories, these two superheroes are united in their strong sense of ideals and patriotic beliefs. Because of this, they have to contend with outside forces that threaten their home country as well as enemies from within.

They are also among the most pacifist of superheroes, as they will only fight unless forced into doing so. With that said, we can’t help but speculate on who would win if Captain America fought against Superman since the two are formidable in their own right. In this mashup, MELF depicts what would realistically happen in such a scenario.

6 The Avengers Meets The Disney Princesses

With the success of The Avengers movies, it has naturally led fans to imagine the Avengers’ heroes being substituted by characters from other franchises. Among the most popular characters used are the Disney Princesses, which includes animations such as this one by Beano.

Aside from the idea being interesting from a feminist perspective, as most of MCU’s popular heroes are men, it would also be doable since Disney owns Marvel Studios. In fact, during the 2017 D23 Expo, many Disney Princess voice actresses showed support for a team-up movie. Now whether this becomes a reality or not is uncertain.

5 X-Men: Days Of Future Past Meets Back To The Future

Following the merger between Fox and Disney, Marvel Studios now has access to the X-Men and Fantastic Four properties which they plan to incorporate into the MCU at some uncertain point. Though the former property is most likely going to be incorporated first due to the popularity of the X-Men movies despite their ups and downs quality-wise.

Take X-Men: Days of Future Past, for example, which was one of the more critically acclaimed titles as it managed to pull off a decent time travel story with good performances. So The Key of Awesome asks: why not combine this with something like Back to the Future?

4 The Avengers Meets The Justice League

While the DCEU Justice League movie may not have been the big hit everyone thought it would be, that doesn’t mean there wasn’t any potential. Arguably, its biggest downfall was trying to be like The Avengers which wasn’t helped by Joss Whedon taking over for Zack Snyder.

This, in turn, has led to mashups like this one by AListProductions, which has the Avengers and the Justice League facing off against each other. Now even though it’s unlikely that such a scenario may actually happen, it has happened before in several comic books. Plus, with the quantic realm being introduced in the MCU it isn’t completely far-fetched.

3 Batman Meets The Avengers

Despite not having any superpowers, Batman has proven to be a worthy member of the Justice League through his intelligence and an array of useful gadgets. Of course, he’s not the only non-powered superhero in Justice League’s expansive roster so the issue balances itself out.

Still, one can’t help but picture what would happen if he were in a group like the Avengers which has a similar balance of non-powered superheroes versus those with superpowers. Though what would make Batman stand out is his loner attitude that none of the other Avengers really have. It is this aspect that CollegeHumor significantly illustrates in this video.

2 The Avengers Meets Pokémon

Given the popularity of both franchises, it would make sense to combine the Avengers with Pokémon even though the concept seems completely ridiculous. However, there are ways in which fans have made this kind of mashup work.

First, there’s the route of picturing the Avengers with their own Pokémon which would naturally be defined by their personalities and abilities. For instance, someone like Thor would most likely have Electric-Type Pokémon since his main power is the ability to control lightning and thunder. But CartoonHooligans goes the extra mile and reimagines actual Pokémon after the Avengers themselves in terms of their design.

1 Deadpool Meets Beauty And The Beast

Among the possible mashups that can be accomplished, Deadpool would fit right into any one of them due to his tendency to break the fourth wall. This was even apparent in his cinematic debut, which was one of the most financially successful R-rated superhero movies ever made.

Now whether our Merc with a Mouth will have a place in the Disney-controlled MCU or not is debatable, we can all dream of him appearing in Disney movies like Beauty and the Beast. In fact, this video made by Deadpool Musical puts him in a musical parody of the “Gaston” song.
