Over the course of the fifteen years we’ve been watching Sam and Dean Winchester, they’ve covered everything there was in the Supernatural world, and have completed some incredible kills along the way. However, the Doctor Who universe is far larger, and we don’t see the boys winning against some of them.
Still, we can’t write the Winchesters off completely, seeing as they’ve even contended with God himself and are continuing the fight. In this list, we’ve considered any enemy in Doctor Who that has been seen committing atrocious acts as a “monster,” which means humanoid aliens also count along with the other enemies that have petrified fans over the years.
10 Could: The Sontarans
Having conquered worlds and conducting a solely militaristic approach, you’d think the Sontarans would be at a big advantage against the brothers. However, it’s because they can’t understand unorthodox offensive ideas that they would be defeated.
Knowing the Winchesters, they would escape the initial confrontation once they realize the Sontarans are much stronger than them. Following which, it would be inevitable before Sam would realize the weak spot behind their necks, and there’s no doubt that Dean would be the one to defeat them using this knowledge. The Sontarans' gullible personalities would also open them up to be fooled by the Winchesters.
9 Could Not: The Silence
One would require the brains of the Doctor to have any chance of retaining knowledge of the Silence, something we don’t believe would exist in the Supernatural universe. With the lore unable to guide them, the boys would be out of their element.
Since they wouldn’t remember encountering the silence each time they were seen, Sam and Dean would be powerless. The Silence also had powers to absorb electricity and were huge humanoid monsters, meaning the Winchesters couldn’t rely on their muscle either.
8 Could: The Weeping Angels
This will be a contentious point for most, seeing as the Weeping Angels are considered as perhaps the scariest monsters there are, but we’re still going to have to hand it to the Winchesters for this. The reason is that, even if they were sent to the past, Sam and Dean would be able to find something in the lore to use magical means and return to the present.
The Eleventh Doctor was shown to have beaten the Weeping Angels in his final episode by simply fooling one to look into a mirror, thereby incapacitating it indefinitely; this would be the way we see the Winchesters defeating them too.
7 Could Not: The Cybermen
Although you might think the Cybermen are kind of like the Sontarans in that they’re always on the offensive and open to kill, they also possess the intellect of advanced machinery and mainly focus on assimilation.
It is the assimilating factor that would finish the Winchesters, who rely in failing at least once before learning from their mistakes. With the Cybermen, at least one of them would be assimilated, causing the other brother to lose hope in fighting. The Cybermen’s possession of a killing touch at times is another simple reason why the boys won’t come even close to beating them.
6 Could: Zygons
This one should be fairly easy for the Winchesters to tackle. Why, you ask? That would be because they’ve faced off similar enemies in shapeshifters before. If you’re thinking Zygons are more advanced, then let us remind you that the Winchesters also dealt with the Leviathans.
There’s nobody who knows Sam and Dean better than Sam and Dean themselves, and even a carbon copy of the other won’t fool them to put their guard down. Soon enough, they would hold a Zygon hostage and figure out how to beat the rest.
5 Could Not: Toclafane
Let’s remind you of these monsters in case you don’t remember them. The Toclafane were the humans of the far future, in the time where the universe was almost over and the survivors had regressed to human heads contained within flying shells.
These came equipped with razor blades and laser guns that killed instantly — enough to end Sam and Dean in a jiffy. There were billions of these Toclafane, and their hive formations would mean both the brothers would be massacred before they knew what hit them.
4 Could: Empty Child
While most would cower at the sight of this ghost, Sam and Dean would rejoice instead as this would play right into their wheelhouse. The Ninth Doctor had demonstrated how it could be fooled by playing its mummy, which isn’t far away from the thinking the boys would have.
All in all, they would have a bigger advantage than the Doctor himself, as Sam and Dean are always in the mindset of facing ghosts of all kinds. Invoking the Supernatural logic, despite how ridiculous it might get, the Winchesters would probably track down and burn the kid’s bones or simply reunite him with his mother.
3 Could Not: The Daleks
These beings are far too vicious, cunning, and advanced for the Winchesters to wrap their heads around the idea of beating them. The Doctor’s repeated victories against them might have made the Daleks seem like a regular foe, but humans just can’t match them.
Their one-hit kill move of their blasters would catch the boys unawares straightaway. Even if they survived that, they don’t have weapons that can penetrate the Daleks’ armor. With a genius like Davros commanding them, the boys wouldn’t be able to use their wit to their advantage either.
2 Could: Autons
The Winchesters have battled living Mannequins before, so is that a close enough comparison to the Autons? Even if you don’t think so, these beings still aren’t advanced enough to be all-out destructive, and the boys should have enough time to come up with a game plan.
Considering the fact that a normal human like Rose was able to beat the Autons, Sam and Dean’s sharp minds would figure out how to attack the Autons’ consciousness. As far as fighting them is concerned, we’d love to see Dean tear the Autons apart with his bare hands and have a fun time at it.
1 Could Not: The Master
If you want to argue that the Master is not a monster, then you should recall the Doctor Who movie where he indeed was a shapeshifting monster. The Master was also monstrous after his resurrection in the 2008-10 specials, where he developed powers and a ravenous hunger that led to him devouring people.
However, the Master is a monster in personality as well, one that Sam and Dean would never be able to defeat due to their insanity crossing all bounds. The boys just don’t have the smarts to counter the Master’s, along with his ruthlessness and mean streak. Encountering the ravenous Master would probably end with him having them for “dinner time,” as he called it.
