Halo Infinite Already Has NERF Blasters And We Want Them

Fans of Halo Infinite will soon be able to wield some of the game’s weapons in the real world, courtesy of NERF. Hasbro, the parent company of the popular foam dart gun line, announced a partnership with Halo developers 343 Industries to release a wide array of toys based on the popular first-person shooter franchise, including NERF versions of some of the most iconic firearms in legendary space soldier Master Chief’s vast arsenal.

Set to come out this holiday season alongside the upcoming Xbox Series X, Halo Infinite will continue the story of Master Chief Petty Officer John-117 as the third chapter in 343 Industries’ Reclaimer Saga, which also consists of 2012’s Halo 4 and 2015’s Halo 5: Guardians. To commemorate Infinite’s release, a number of figures and collectibles based on the game’s characters and setting are slated to be sold alongside it, including NERF’s planned line of weapons.

In a recent press release, Hasbro announced the release of three new Halo-themed NERF blasters with a street date of October 1: the large Spartan MA40 Blaster, which is motorized, can carry up to 10 Elite foam NERF darts and is set to cost $49.99, and the smaller MicroShots SPNKR and Covent Needler Blasters, both of which are single shot, carry a price of $9.99. These toys will also come packed with an exclusive Halo Infinite code to unlock bonus add-on content for the game.NERF and Halo are both heritage brands that kids have grown up with and loved for decades, and we’ve found a strong overlap within our consumers,” Hasbro Vice President of Global Brand Strategy and Marketing Adam Kleinman said in regards to the announcement. “We are constantly looking into ways to bring more innovation and excitement to the NERF brand, and saw an incredible opportunity to collaborate with 343 industries’ as they reinvent HALO for the next generation.” Interested fans can check out an image of the blasters below:

Having been in production since the 1970s, NERF is no stranger to video games. Dart guns based on such games as Fortnite and Overwatch have been produced by the company in recent years, recreating popular weapons from said games in a similar manner to the upcoming Halo: Infinite blasters. The company has even produced a line of Avengers: Infinity War NERF guns. The brand has also licensed a series of on-rails shooter titles for the Nintendo Wii, all packaged with special NERF guns that could be used to either hold a Wiimote or played with as a regular dart blaster.

These new Halo NERF weapons look great, accurately capturing the appearance of the in-game Halo weapons save for some recoloring to abide by safety regulations. The MA40 Blaster in particular seems especially fun to play with, given its large size and motor-based semi-automatic firing. Fans of all ages will be able to act out the battles of Halo Infinite in their own backyards when all three of these NERF weapons are released on October 1.
