Mr. Moseby tries his best to manage the hotel with the help of staff members like Arwin, Esteban, Muriel, Lance, and others, but Zack and Cody get away with some crazy schemes. 9 Even Stevens (Disney+)
Louis, Ren, and Donnie might be a little rambunctious, but these siblings brought something special to their time. Created by television legend Yvette Lee Bowser, Living Single invites viewers into the cozy apartment of single ladies Regine, Khadijah, and Synclaire. Their sassy friend Maxine (Max) does not live there but is with them often. The show opens with a fresh hip hop theme song all its own (sung by Queen Latifah). The four women share their personal lives and help each other navigate the ups and downs of living single. With charismatic male friends Kyle and Overton/Obie, the laughs and flirtations keep rolling. Learn the flow of this fabulous sitcom; then turn it on and relax for a while.
6 Frasier (Hulu, Amazon Prime)
Can't get enough of "those tossed salads and scrambled eggs?" Kick back and relax with Frasier Crane. Frasier picked up where Cheers left off and ran for the exact same amount of seasons--11! Its popularity has remained. While waiting for the reboot, why not settle into the classic's original humor and unbelievable situations? Frasier and Nile are both psychiatrists, both quite formal, and highly intellectual. They still have their moments. Enjoy the wisdom of Daphne and Roz, the sensitivity of Marty, and the continued appearances of Lillith and her sharp wit. Take in the beauty of Seattle, the fun fictional radio atmosphere, and the mystery of Maris.
5 Cheers (Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hulu)
Cheers is so popular that it can be streamed on multiple platforms. The show ran for 11 years. Its nightlight factor largely comes from its regular setting of the bar and its mostly stable cast of characters. The spirit of the Diane and Coach years differs somewhat from the Rebecca and Woody years, but it's still the same great show.
Join the room as they all yell "Norm!" Chart Sam's development as a more sensitive male, and try to keep track of Carla's pregnancies. Finally, sing one of the best theme songs of all time. "Taking a break from all your worries sure would help a lot."
4 Boy Meets World (Disney+, Amazon Prime)
Boy Meets World is a great nightlight because it plays like a song; in fact, it has four distinct eras of opening credits. Techno early 90s computer game theme, then animated Cory tapping his toe to a few bars (but no theme song), then cool mid-90s theme, and finally, the theme song with words: "When this boy meets world, wandering down this road that we call life is what we're doin'. It's good to know I have friends that will always stand by me." All seven years of the show reveal that these friends do stand by one another with the help of Mr. and Mrs. Matthews, Mr. Feeny, and other friends and teachers. They make sacrifices to help each other, and they are stronger when it all comes to an end. Close out the day with a good dose of BMW on Disney+; then see what you think of its spin-off, Girl Meets World.
3 Family Matters (Hulu, Amazon Prime)
Steve Urkel is the prize of the 1990s. His signature wardrobe and unforgettable catchphrases ("Did I do that?") stay with audiences of every age. Carl and Harriet Winslow and their three children are not always kind to Steve, but they often regret the way they treat him. Carl faces a number of moral questions in his work as a police officer. He and his family also must exercise patience when "Mother Winslow," Carl's mother Estelle, comes to live with them. Estelle helps shed more light on the family's heritage as African Americans. Harriet's sister and nephew also live with the family for a time.
At every turn, the characters deal with problems of all sizes. They support one another and grow together, because "as days go by, it's the bigger love of the family" that matters.
2 Full House (Hulu, Amazon Prime)
"Everywhere you look," you see the stuff that makes childhood, growing up, and adulthood so special. With eight seasons of memories, Full House is the ultimate companion through the best and the worst of life. The show captures a timeless sisterhood with DJ, Stephanie, and Michelle. It chronicles team parenting with Danny, Jesse, and Joey. The early years establish the rhythm of the household, the middle seasons bring together Uncle Jesse and Aunt Becky, and the final days keep driving home what it means to be a family.
