A new set video from The Falcon and The Winter Soldier reveals a huge action scene with the show's evil Captain America. After Avengers: Endgame concluded with Steve Rogers passing the Captain America shield to Sam Wilson aka Falcon (Anthony Mackie), it appeared fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe would get to see the MCU's new Cap in Marvel Studios' first Disney+ series. This will be true when the The Falcon and The Winter Solider debuts later this year, but Sam Wilson will not be the one to take on the mantle or carry the shield.
Instead of letting Falcon easily transition into a new life as Captain America, the events of The Falcon and The Winter Soldier will see him lose the title and shield to John Walker (Wyatt Russell). Set photos have shown what appears to be a press conference for Walker, as he's suited up and carrying the new shield from the end of Avengers: Endgame. Ever since that reveal, fans have wondered how this will happen and anticipated an adversarial relationship with Sam and Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan). But, there haven't been too many views at the production that showed the three men in the same scenes.
As production winds down on The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, an outdoor night shoot has provided us with new looks at a big action scene. Photos from the set surfaced online from live2netflix on Twitter that revealed the scene involved Walker and his Captain America shield, but it was unclear who he was fighting or what else was taking place. Clarity has been provided thanks to a set video unearthed by Murphy's Multiverse that is now circulating on Twitter. Check them out below:
Thanks to the video, it is clear that it is Walker in his Captain America attire who is in the middle of this fight. He single-handily combats the attacks of multiple people, but it is not known who they are. It is possible they are civilians attempting to stop what Walker is doing or henchmen Walker is trying to defeat. But, the footage also shows someone who appears to be Bucky opening up the back of an armored vehicle. Based on the number of people who exit the vehicle, it appears Bucky is saving hostages - but whether they were taken by Walker or the people Walker is trying to stop is still unclear.
Not only does this scene offer up the first look at Walker's super-strength in action, but it could tease a potential team-up between him and Bucky. Unless this scene is part of Walker eventually losing the mantle due to a violent outburst on civilians or an otherwise evil plan, it would appear that he is fighting bad guys while Bucky saves people. This would be a fascinating team-up to see in The Falcon and The Winter Soldier as we don't know what would bring Bucky and this new Captain America together. Even though fans have assumed Walker will be an antagonist, this video could show that he will actually work with Bucky and Sam instead.
