Here is a cast and character guide for CBS' Limitless series. The Limitless movie from 2011 cemented the career of Bradley Cooper (A Star Is Born) and used the popular myth that human beings only use 10% of their brains as its basis. In the movie, Cooper's character is a lowly writer who is given a pill dubbed NZT that unlocks his brain's full potential, which leads to money and power, in addition to making him some enemies; the pill also comes with unforeseen side effects.
Limitless ended with Cooper's character about to run for Senate, setting up a potential sequel. This didn't come to pass, as Cooper's career led to more Oscar-worthy projects like Silver Linings Playbook and American Sniper. There was still interesting material to mine from Limitless, however, so CBS instead transformed it into a TV show. The series takes place four years after the movie and follows a new character who is also taking NZT as he works with the FBI to solve crimes. The show was entertaining but turning Limitless into a glorified procedural didn't feel like the right fit, and it was cancelled after one season in 2016.
Still, it attracted some fans during its run, and here's a break down of Limitless' cast and characters.
Jake McDorman - Brian Finch
Jake McDorman (Lady Bird) plays lead character Brian in Limitless. In a similar fashion to Cooper's Eddie, he's a down on his luck creative type. Brian is given the NZT pill and becomes mega smart, and this later leads him to act as an FBI consultant. He works with Agent Harris as they track down the creators of the drug.
Jennifer Carpenter - Rebecca Harris
Jennifer Carpenter (Dexter) plays FBI agent Harris on Limitless, who is partnered with Brian. Rebecca has a personal connection to NZT, which was involved in her father's mysterious death. She may not match Finch's intelligence but she's a resourceful, smart agent regardless.
Bradley Cooper - Senator Eddie Morra
Bradley Cooper - who also executive produced the show - returns as Morra for the Limitless show. Given his film career, Cooper only made a few appearances and is the one who recruits Finch to spy on the FBI on his behalf in exchange for more NZT. Morra also makes a run for President during the show.
Hill Harper - FBI Agent Spelman Boyle
Hill Harper is Rebecca's partner Boyle on Limitless, who is a good agent but isn't exactly Brian's biggest fan.
Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio - FBI Agent Nasreen Pouran
The Abyss star Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio is the commander of the CJC in Limitless and is tasked with facilitating Brian's job whilst also keeping an eye on him.
