Netflix has unveiled the official trailer for the third season of its acclaimed crime drama Ozark. It first premiered on the streamer in 2017 and stars Jason Bateman and Laura Linney as a married couple who move their family to the Missouri Ozarks and launder money for a drug cartel. Thus far into its run, Ozark has won two Emmys (one for Bateman's directing, another for supporting actress Julia Garner) and has been nominated for several more. The third season was officially ordered last October.
Going into the third season, the stakes appear higher than ever for the Byrde family, and that's very clear in the official trailer (via Netflix). Marty (Bateman) and Wendy (Linney) are even more at odds with each other, with the two keeping secrets and spying on each other. One notable moment even finds Wendy pulling a gun on Marty. You can watch the trailer for yourself below:
A large source of tension between the couple appears to be their new casino, with Wendy referencing their "shareholders" and the pressure they elicit multiple times. Wendy and Marty even find themselves in couples' counseling, though it doesn't look like it's going well. Ozark's third season will arrive on Netflix on March 27 and have 10 episodes.
The official synopsis for Ozark season 3 is as follows: "It's six months later, the casino is up and running, but Marty and Wendy are fighting for control of the family's destiny. Marty preaches keeping the status quo. Aided by an alliance with Helen and drug cartel leader Omar Navarro, Wendy plots for expansion. But when Wendy's brother Ben comes into town, everyone's lives are thrown into chaos."
Ozark season 3 premieres on Netflix on March 27.
