Artist BossLogic imagines GLOW star Alison Brie as She-Hulk in new fan art. A She-Hulk show for new streaming service Disney+ is currently in the works at Marvel. Like several planned series, including WandaVision, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, and Loki, She-Hulk will take place in the MCU. This opens the door for appearances by existing MCU characters, as well as for She-Hulk herself to crossover to feature films. Just this weekend, Hulk star Mark Ruffalo confirmed he's currently in "preliminary talks" to appear in the upcoming show. Ruffalo is the most obvious choice to make the jump to She-Hulk, as casting descriptions for the series reportedly revealed that Jennifer Walters will get her powers via a blood transfusion from Bruce. This would mean a comics-accurate origin story for She-Hulk.
As development continues on She-Hulk, fans have begun speculating who might take on the title role. Brooklyn Nine-Nine star Stephanie Beatriz put her hat in the ring early on. However, she also admitted last week that her role on the NBC sitcom would likely prevent her from taking the role of She-Hulk, even it were offered to her. Another name with a lot of buzz is Brie, who addressed the rumors on The Late Late Show with James Corden earlier this week. At the time, Brie said she found the idea of playing She-Hulk "interesting," with Corden even joking Brie's response made him think she'd already been cast.
Now, popular fan artist BossLogic is showing fans what that might look like, sharing his image of Brie as She-Hulk on Twitter. In it, Brie wears the character's traditional purple, as well as the Avengers "A." This makes sense, considering the casting description for the character reportedly called Walters "a future member of the Avengers." Check out the photo below:
Though She-Hulk reportedly won't begin production until later this year, several of the Disney+ MCU series are already several steps ahead. The Falcon and the Winter Soldier has already wrapped filming, with a premiere date of August 2020. WandaVision with Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany will drop in December, well before its original 2021 release. Marvel is also working on the animated series What If...?, Ms. Marvel with new hero Kamala Khan, and of course, Loki.
Despite the number of upcoming Marvel series, it makes sense that fans are focused on the casting of She-Hulk. With well-known performers like Brie and Beatriz excited about the show, it seems likely that a big name will be cast. As Brie didn't shoot down the rumors of her casting, and even seemed happy about the possibility, there's still a chance she'll wind up with the role. Thanks to BossLogic, fans now know exactly what that could look like.
