Not many people expected Netflix's Castlevania to be as successful as it is today. Heck, even the creators didn't, which was probably why the first season only had four episodes. However, the intense plot, fluid animations, and character dynamics made it a popular demand.
Speaking of character dynamics, that's what drives Castlevania's interesting take on the vampire trope. Many characters' motivations and alignments make for good progression. That's why we're here to classify them based on their Hogwarts Houses so we can dissect just how well these characters come together to shape one of Netflix's most popular animated shows into a gripping macabre adventure.
10 TREVOR BELMONT - GRYFFINDOR
First up is an obvious character, Trevor Belmont. The man practically wears his personality on his skin, proud yet stoic and caring yet carefree. As for where he belongs, it probably won't take more than a second for the Sorting Hat to decide to place Belmont on House Gryffindor.
He just fits right in there. Belmont, despite the tragic fate that befell his manor and all his family members, continues to fight on and stay courageous in the face of overwhelming supernatural adversity. Besides, he's a guy who would just run up to Dracula and punch him, you can't get any braver or more stupid than that.
9 SYPHA BELNADES - RAVENCLAW
In contrast to Trevor Belmont's Spartan methods and combat shortsightedness, Sypha Belnades, now his lover, is smart and more reserved. Her closest match in the Harry Potter mythos is Hermione Granger and even shares certain mannerisms with her, such as condescension.
Even so, Sypha belongs more in Ravenclaw instead of Gryffindor due to her vast knowledge of the world and magic, being a Seeker magician. That's why she complements Belmont well enough and balances out the duo's rashness.
8 ADRIAN ALUCARD TEPES - HUFFLEPUFF
You might find this surprising but do bear in mind that Cedric Diggory was a Hufflepuff and he was also beautiful, much like Adrian Tepes or Alucard. Adrian could have easily become a Slytherin due to his unique heritage and powers, but thanks to his mother, Lisa, he became a humble demi-vampire.
Even as Lisa died, Adrian remained loyal to her virtues and beliefs, enough to challenge his own grieving and insane father. Moreover, Adrian is also genuinely good and values his friends and human beings. For those, he deserves the Hufflepuff award.
7 ISAAC - SLYTHERIN
There's our first Slytherin, Dracula's servant nonetheless, Isaac. He's one of the two human forgemasters of Dracula and is tasked with creating Night Creatures for him or providing him an army from Hell. That alone should make Isaac devious enough to be in Slytherin.
More than that, Isaac's ambition is also boundless and can achieve whatever he sets his mind into. Even with Dracula dead, Isaac continued his plan to punish the human race and even challenged a powerful sorcerer for an army in one of the most hardcore anime fights involving a hailstorm of human bodies.
6 HECTOR - RAVENCLAW
In contrast to Isaac's stalwart and adamant philosophies, Hector, Dracula's other human servant, is insecure and naive. He was brilliant, however, possibly as brilliant as Isaac since he's also an accomplished forgemaster and can create his own army effortlessly. His intelligence easily puts him in Ravenclaw.
However, it seems his emotional maturity has yet to reach a reliable level for Dracula's war court. Hector apparently falls in love with any female vampire who bats her eyes his way. His eagerness to be a part of something or a servant makes him easily manipulated.
5 CARMILLA - SLYTHERIN
Carmilla is certainly one of the most competent vampires in Dracula's former war court. Come Season 3, she's already planning to take over a huge chunk of Europe after betraying Dracula. It's safe to assume she has been this way ever since becoming a vampire.
That puts Carmilla in House Slytherin for pure mad ambition and enough cunning to betray vampires much older than she is. Carmilla was even able to betray her former master vampire successfully and carve her way to the top of the vampire hierarchy. Not many former humans can do that.
4 LENORE - SLYTHERIN
Lenore is one of the new characters in Season 3 of Castlevania and she's every bit worthy to be in Carmilla's court of vampiric sisters. Lenore is the diplomat type in their loose council but beneath her gentle and harmless facade is a poisonous viper.
She easily ensnared a weary Hector into becoming her slave and knows how to deceive and lie to anyone just to get the upper hand. Lenore is one of the most cunning vampires in the show and not even Carmilla could top her skill at diplomacy and speechcraft. She's easily a Slytherin.
3 MORANA - SLYTHERIN
Morana takes care of the logistics and statecraft of Carmilla's vampiric sisterhood. She manages Carmilla's mini-empire and region in Europe whenever she's gone and runs everything involved in the castle and in their little spot of vampire hell.
Even so, she has enough ambition and drive to abide by Carmilla's schemes and also wants more territory for their sisterhood. Morana can also easily talk her lesbian lover, Striga into committing to Carmilla's grand plan. Like her sisters, Morana is a solid Slytherin.
2 STRIGA - GRYFFINDOR
Striga appears as the odd one out among her vampire sisters not only because of her more masculine appearance but also her rationale. She manages the military aspect of the sisterhood's domain and is also the commander of Carmilla's forces.
She's not exactly as clever or as ambitious as her sisters but her experience in warfare and battles makes her an irreplaceable asset in their council. For this, Striga is more or less a Gryffindor for being a daring vampire with courage and determination to carry out Carmilla's diabolically deranged plans.
1 VLAD DRACULA TEPES - RAVENCLAW
Last but not the least, we have the most memorable villain of the Castlevania franchise, Dracula himself. He's the reason for all that's happening to the animated show and he did all of it as a destructive coping mechanism for his dead wife. That's not exactly cunning nor ambitious.
Still, there's no doubt that Dracula's intelligent nature and old age contributed much to his achievements. He's a man of science, after all, and even created a castle that no other vampire can. The sad grieving old demonic man is certainly a Ravenclaw for his extensive knowledge and how he used it. Hopefully, his son Alucard doesn't misuse such knowledge in the 4th Season.
