The Myer-Briggs Type Indicator sorts us all into 16 personality types, that are usually pretty accurate at describing who we are. ISFJs represent introversion, sensing, feeling, and judgement. They're the "defenders" of the bunch, the caring, practical, and hardworking.
Science fiction isn't known for being these things, but there are still some great futuristic or alien flicks out there for this personality type to love, and of course, hate. Here are 5 movies that ISFJs will love, and 5 that they will most definitely hate.
10 Love: Her (2013)
Some of the best sci-fi films are ones that aren't about action and war. This sci-fi flick takes place in the future, where new technology allows for brilliant and human-like operating systems. A lonely writer (Joaquin Phoenix) falls in love with his.
Directed by Spike Jonze, this movie also has Amy Adams and the voice of Scarlett Johansson. In a tale of love, independence, and acceptance, this sci-fi flick is bound to fill the hearts of every ISFJ who watches it.
9 Hate: Prometheus (2012)
This sci-fi is about humanity and aliens, directed by the brilliant Ridley Scott. When a team travels to a distant moon to search for their origins, they discover they're certainly not alone.
This classic alien movie is riveting, but it's also pretty violent and rash for anyone with the caring and down-to-earth heart of an ISFJ.
8 Love: Blade Runner 2049 (2017)
This is the sequel to the classic flick, starring Ryan Gosling as Blade Runner K. This movie is a dystopian, sci-fi mystery that will keep all viewers in awe from start to finish. With buried secrets and hunt for a missing Blade Runner, there is so much depth to this stunning film.
An ISFJ is known for being compassionate, and the emotional backstory and longing int his flick will certainly hook them. Plus, it's brilliant, and takes a keen eye to understand.
7 Hate: War Of The Planet Of The Apes (2017)
This movie is definitely a pinnacle film in Hollywood, and while it's certainly an amazing film, it might not be loved by many ISFJs. This action movie tells the story of apes, who aspire to avenge their kind.
With Woody Harrelson and Andy Serkis, this riveting movie is a bit too much about revenge and war for any ISFJ to really get much out of.
6 Love: Arrival (2016)
Many alien movies aren't super enjoyable for ISFJs, and it's mainly because they're all about war, and not about helping or compassion. This one is different, and follows a linguist who is hired by the military to communicate with mysterious life-forms.
With a story of an internal journey, family, and cooperation, this sci-fi masterpiece if perfect for ISFJs. Plus, Amy Adams, Jeremy Renner, and Forest Whitaker are flawless.
5 Hate: The Mist (2007)
This sci-fi definitely falls in the horror genre, too. After a storm unleashes murderous creatures in a small town - they might stand together and fight for their lives.
This movie is intense, devastating, and totally creepy. For an ISFJ, there's certainly too much at stake and far too much violence. All people in this personality type would certainly go crazy, because they can't save everyone.
4 Love: Ready Player One (2018)
This sci-fi adventure is a youthful and fun flick for the genre. In a dystopian world, the OASIS is a virtual reality where people escape. When the creator dies, players hunt for an Easter Egg that allows them to have his fortune and the world.
With youth, greed, and freedom, this wholesome tale teaches us exactly what's important about life and the world, and will entertain all ISFJs.
3 Hate: Limitless (2011)
This sci-fi thriller is all about technology, specifically, a pill that allows the user to access 100% of their brain. As a result, a struggling writer (Bradley Cooper) is suddenly able to make billions, but finds himself in the face of many dangers.
This movie is certainly about greed and individual potential. Of course, any ISFJ isn't concerned with either of these things, and this flick might just be worthy of snoozing through.
2 Love: I Am Legend (2007)
This is a classic of the genre, starring Will Smith. The world has undergone an apocalypse and is plagued by monsters. The sole survivor in New York City can find a cure, and is the courage that saves humanity.
This riveting thriller is all about defending humanity and acting selflessly - which is right in the wheelhouse of all ISFJs, while still being totally entertaining.
1 Hate: Lucy (2014)
This action sci-fi takes a similar route of technology, where a woman (Scarlett Johansson) finds herself captured and turned into a drug mule for a synthetic drug. When she accidentally is exposed, she is far more capable than ever before.
This flick is about revenge and violence. Again, two things that are certainly not valued by any ISFJ. There is no real silver lining or compassion in this film, and that makes it a pretty ill fit for this personality type.
