Shang-Chi Star Reveals Favorite Tiger King Personality In Funny Video

Much like the rest of the world, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings star Simu Liu has watched Netflix's docuseries Tiger King, and he's formed some opinions about the colorful cast of characters found on the show. After debuting on the streaming service back in March, Tiger King became an internet sensation as people devoured the wild and shocking story of big cat owner Joe Exotic. Tiger King's popularity can be attributed to people searching for new things to watch while self-quarantining at home due to the coronavirus pandemic, though its many twists and turns certainly have a hand in capturing viewers' attention.

Liu, best known for his role on the Canadian sitcom Kim's Convenience, was officially cast in Marvel's Shang-Chi last year. The film had begun production in Australia last month before it was shut down because of coronavirus concerns, and it has yet to resume work. Shang-Chi also saw its release date bumped as a result of the pandemic; while it was initially aiming to premiere on February 12, 2021, Disney announced on Friday Shang-Chi would be moving to May 7, 2021, a move Liu wholeheartedly accepts.

While trying to keep the good vibes going, Liu posted a Tik Tok on Twitter of him reacting to the various figures who make up the insanity of Tiger King. For the most part, Liu seems wary of Tiger King's cast (with him outright running from Jeff Lowe), but there was one person Liu seemed to enjoy more than the others: John Reinke, Joe Exotic's former manager. You can see Liu's funny video below:

Liu is far from the only celebrity to jump on the Tiger King bandwagon. Multiple actors have voiced their desire to play Exotic in a feature film, with Dwayne Johnson even saying he wanted to make a movie but couldn't because the rights aren't available. However, a limited series based on Exotic's story is in development with Kate McKinnon starring as Exotic's rival Carol Baskin.

Tiger King only has one season comprised of seven episodes so far, but many are certainly hoping for another season. Lowe recently hinted another episode would be arriving this week, but Netflix has yet to confirm such a thing is happening. Regardless, Tiger King has proven to be an excellent quarantine binge-watch. For his part, Liu's social media presence continues to be a delight, especially at a time when people are struggling to find sources of positivity. Marvel fans are certainly lucky to have him on board as their Shang-Chi.
