Star Wars: The 10 Most Heroic Characters, Ranked | ScreenRant

Despite being such an empire-esque franchise with an immense following and vast, expansive lore, the Star Wars franchise and the stories within it can usually be boiled down to a battle between good and evil.

The heroes and villains of Star Wars are iconic, and even though it is almost stereotypical that heroes will win we the fans absolutely love it, and when they do win, it will always prompt a fist pump from the fandom. There are a plethora of beloved heroes, and we look at the most heroic here.

11 Honorable Mentions

Poe and Finn are two of the biggest sequel heroes that just miss out. Captain Rex and the rest of the clone army such as Wolffe, Gregor, Fives, Echo, Cody, etc. all deserve mention. The charming Lando Calrissian just misses out on this list alongside Rogue One, Wedge Antilles, most members of the Jedi High Council, Qui-Gon, Padmé Amidalla, and a whole host of other great characters.

10 HERA SYNDULLA (& GHOST Crew)

Hera Syndulla likely would not have made it on this list if not for her crew members, but when you take Ghost Crew as a whole, with Hera heading them off, they belong on this list.

They were one of the first rebel cells, liberating Lothal, ending Thrawn's TIE fighter initiative, which would have likely ended the rebellion. Following the breakup of a lot of the squad, Hera remained a massive part of the Rebel Alliance and perhaps the most excellent pilot in the Galaxy at the time.

9 Ahsoka Tano

Ahsoka Tano is another character who may be hard to place above others, but her journey in and out of Star Wars is undeniable, and it is not finished.

Not only was she a big part of the Clone War, fighting under and alongside Jedi Generals and the clones, but she was also a considerable aid to the beginning of the rebellion too. She helps everyone at every corner, has a massive role in the Siege of Mandalore, has come face-to-face with Sith and Inquisitors on multiple occasions, and her bravery in leaving the Council must get commended.

8 R2-D2 (& C-3PO)

R2-D2 alongside C-3PO are mainstays in the Star Wars universe and are unsung heroes in the various stories of the universe.

Artoo was always there in the middle of the action as a key player in most scenarios, delivering messages of hope, throwing lightsabers around, and controlling elevator 31174. While not obvious heroes, Star Wars would not have ended with the good guys' victory without them.

7 Rey

Rey is the main protagonist of the sequel trilogy, and one of the biggest heroes in all of Star Wars with only three film appearances.

Rey makes it on this list for two main reasons; helping bring Luke back into the fight and for finally destroying the Emperor. Rey does a lot more, from fighting Kylo to saving the Resistance, and there is no denying her heroics, no matter your opinion on the sequels.

6 Anakin Skywalker

Anakin Skywalker only falls this low on the list because of the whole Dark Side, younglings slaughter, Galactic dictatorship, evil Vader phase of his life.

Nevertheless, looking at Anakin as just his time as Anakin, his role in the Clone War, his training of Ahsoka, and his killing of the Emperor's original body all earn Star Wars' main character a place on this list.

5 Yoda

It is hard to put an order of the most heroic figures, and it could change on any day, but Yoda undoubtedly deserves his place.

Alongside training Luke Skywalker, dueling Palpatine, and being Grandmaster of the Jedi High Council, Yoda trained hundreds of years worth of Jedi, including some of the biggest heroes on this list, and other Jedi likely to be explored in the High Republic.

4 Han Solo (& Chewbacca)

Han Solo is not as consistently heroic as say Yoda, or Ahsoka, or Ghost Crew, but his actions throughout Star Wars are undeniable.

He was a crucial part in the destruction of both Death Stars, the first time of which had he not gotten involved, the Rebel Alliance would have died. He also went to save Kylo and, in doing so, saved Kylo by way of memory. Of course, there is no Han without Chewbacca, and everything Han does, Chewie is right alongside him.

3 LEIA ORGANA

Leia Organa is perhaps the most consistently admirable character in all of Star Wars, even if a couple of other characters perform more significantly heroic actions than her.

She was perhaps the most crucial and involved member of the rebellion, aiding in the destruction of the second Death Star, and then went on to be the leader of the Resistance as well as a critical member of the New Republic. She lost everything and still marched on as one of the Galaxy's greatest heroes, and will always be missed, in-universe and out.

2 Obi-Wan Kenobi

Obi-Wan Kenobi is one of the most iconic characters in all of pop culture, and his heroics in the Star Wars universe cannot go unappreciated.

He was a crucial General in the Clone War, as well as a Jedi Master who temporarily got rid of Maul, and permanently got rid of Grievous. Kenobi also sent Ezra on his right path and killed Maul once and for all, all while staying in a nineteen-year exile, watching over Luke to bring balance to the Galaxy. This coming before sacrificing his life to save the heroes of A New Hope, and becoming one with the Force, even going on to aid Anakin in the process at his death.

1 Luke Skywalker

It is perhaps a typical answer, but how could Luke Skywalker not top the list of most heroic characters?

Luke may have his occasional faults such as a whiny nature, or his isolation, but they were a part of his journey. He destroyed the Death Star, brought Darth Vader back to the light, became one of the most powerful Jedi of all time, trained Leia, trained Rey, and saved the Resistance from complete and utter destruction in a heroic final act.
