5 Fantasy Movies Sagittarius Will Love (& 5 They Will Hate)

Sagittarius is a sign that loves freedom and travel, making the quest format of many fantasy films perfect for it. But not all fantasy works for a Sag, becomes sometimes these movies just don't have enough heart or originality. That's a big no for this quirky star sign.

When it comes to fantasy, here are some movies a Sagittarius will love and some they'll hate.

10 Love: Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban isn't necessarily a quest story, although there is quite a bit of traveling through time and space, but is one that focuses on freedom. Freedom is a big draw for Sagittarius and they'll feel connected especially to Sirius Black's story, as he finally escapes from Azkaban and clears his name, at least to a few important people in his life

Harry also gets a bit of freedom in this movie, finally having a mentor and familial figure beyond his awful aunt and uncle.

9 Hate: Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory will make any Sag feel claustrophobic. The whole movie takes place in one building... and that building is basically a series of booby traps designed to punish children. A Sagittarius would not respond well to this. They are generous in spirit and would rather forgive than teach a lesson to.

This is one movie not meant for them.

8 Love: The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King

The Lord of the Rings is the ultimate in quest movies and its final piece Return of the King really brings the whole journey into. an epic culmination. Sagittarius will be riveted by the last leg of the long road, and they'll adore all their favorite characters coming together to fight and emerge victorious against the forces of evil.

This one gets a thumbs up.

7 Hate: The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies

While Lord of the Rings is a Sagittarius favorite, The Hobbit falls shorter.  With big expectations for the prequel, Sags were hoping for something really great, but The Hobbit lacks everywhere its predecessor shines. Sags feel the journey was only half-hearted and the emotions nowhere near deeply meaningful as in previous.

Alas, Sagittarius will not be going back again.

6 Love: Howl's Moving Castle

Howl's Moving Castle is, by definition, a great movie for Sagittarius. The popular Miyazaki movie literally has a house that moves, and it really doesn't get much freer than that, does it?

Sagittarius will also appreciate the stunning visuals, the beautiful soundscapes, and the quirky characters. There's originality to spare in this great film, which really resembles nothing else out there in the world of fantasy, so this sign will absolutely watch this film over and over.

5 Hate: Cinderella

Cinderella just doesn't do it for Sagittarius. Firstly, no matter the circumstances, a Sagitarrius would never allow themselves to be imprisoned in their own home. They would run away before it came to that, so they can't approve of how  Cinderalla handles the whole thing.

Second, it feels to them like Cinderella never takes the time to become her own person, she just leaves servanthood for marriage. That seems like too much of a rush to commitment for this star sign.

4 Love: Hook

What could be freer than a movie all about returning to the fantasy of childhood and eternal youth? In Hook, Peter finds his way back to Neverland, which is a Sagittarius dream.

They love the world-building that's put into the movie and getting to see the different parts of this fantasy universe shown on screen. A truly magical movie, perfect for a Sag... The only thing they'd change is Peter ever returning to the real world.

3 Hate: Eragon

Eragon tries to be both Harry Potter and The Lord of the Rings, but it really fails on both these counts. Sags will find the hero unrelatable and think the journey comparatively lackluster.

Although the movie tries to craft an interesting world, introducing different races, magic, and even dragons, it really just feels like fantasy by numbers. All wrong for fans of originality like Sagittarius who will feel there are 100 movies that have done the same thing better.

2 Love: The Princess Bride

The Princess Bride is a lot of fun and Sagittarius, who has a great sense of humor, will really appreciate that. The framing of the movie fits the bill for them and none of the characters ever shy away from doing whatever they have to in order to earn spiritual, physical, or romantic freedom. Between laughs and tears, this movie has it all, and it does it in style.

A true hit for a Sag.

1 Hate: The Chronicles of Narnia

The Chronicles of Narnia isn't the worst movie a Sag has seen, but it does come off a little lacking in nuance, compared to other similar movies of this kind. While they enjoy some of the fight scenes and meeting the creatures of the world, Sagittarius will also simply not get behind the notion that, in the end, the children have to be forced back to their mundane, war-filled existence.

How could anyone ever go back? A Sagittarius cannot approve.
