The latest graphic novel adventure from Penguin Random House is heading towards its grand conclusion, but 5 Worlds Book 4: The Amber Anthem is still ready to twist and turn the plot in the second to last entry in the middle-grade series. Co-writers Mark and Alexis Siegel continue the series with artists Xanthe Bouma, Matt Rockefeller, and Boya Sun to present the penultimate volume in the journey of three heroes saving the universe from overheating. The Amber Anthem escalates the stakes as Oona Lee, once the clumsiest student at the Sand Dancer Academy, now grown into a hero with a destiny as epic as the universe she's working to save. The former athlete cyborg Jax Amboy, who has learned the lesson of true friendship so far. And the rapidly fading An Tzu, a child of the slums whose unique gifts may hold the key to lighting all five beacons. But it will take all three to overcome new threats in 5 Worlds Book 4: The Amber Anthem... and the body-possessing entity known as the Mimic.
The story so far (led by First Second creative and editorial director, Mark Siegel) has lived up the scope and wonder of the story's "Star Wars meets Avatar: the Last Airbender" description. Due in no small part to Siegel's training under legendary European science fiction Moebius. In book 4, Oona Lee arrives on Salassandra determined to light the yellow beacon and continue her quest to save the Five Worlds from the evil Mimic’s influence. But the beacon is encased in amber!
