One lucky Avengers fan will win the opportunity to participate in a virtual hangout with the six original actors. The Avengers have teamed up for four films in the MCU, though many have appeared in standalone movies as well. The first film, 2012's The Avengers, impressed fans with the cast's chemistry and impressive action sequences. Unfortunately, at this point in the MCU, it's unlikely fans will see another Avengers team up, at least with the original six. Black Widow and Iron Man are both dead in the present-day timeline, while Chris Evans' Captain America is now an old man.
However, the legacy of the original team remains, thanks to the incredible success of Avengers: Endgame. Not only did it wrap up the Infinity Saga, it also became the highest-grossing movie of all time. Most also saw it as a satisfying conclusion, providing closure for a number of characters. However, Endgame also helped get fans excited about relatively new MCU players like Captain Marvel and Black Panther. It also helped that audiences knew some Avengers were already returning for future standalone films and shows, including Black Widow, Thor, and Hawkeye.
In this difficult time, many celebrities have looked for a way to help out. Evans has come up with one, announcing a virtual game night and Q & A session for one fan and two guests via Fanatics. All six original Avengers actors will participate: Evans, Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson, and Jeremy Renner. Fans donate money in exchange for entries to win, with the proceeds going to Feeding America, Meals On Wheels, World Central Kitchen, and No Kid Hungry. Evans announced the contest on Twitter after being challenged by MCU costar Chris Pratt, who's doing a similar contest for Jurassic World: Dominion. Check out Evans' tweet below:
Fans will see at least one of the original Avengers onscreen this November for the Black Widow solo film. Johansson will obviously appear, with rumors suggesting Downey Jr. may pop up as well. Hemsworth will then reprise his role as Thor for Thor: Love and Thunder, the highly anticipated followup to Thor: Ragnarok. Meanwhile, Renner and Ruffalo will likely both put in appearances on Disney+, in Hawkeye and She-Hulk, respectively. Ruffalo recently commented on a role in the latter, sharing that no deal is in place but he has been talking to Marvel about it.
It's nice to see a star of Evans' caliber supporting some great charities during this uncertain time. The inclusion of all six original Avengers actors is quite the draw and will hopefully result in substantial donations. Many celebrities have already stepped in helping to fight the coronavirus any way they can, but hopefully Evans' contest will inspire others to do the same.
