My Hero Academia: 10 of Mirio's Best Quotes | ScreenRant

Mirio Togata is arguably one of the most inspiring characters from My Hero Academia. An impressive feat, considering that there are heroes like All Might and Deku walking around in his world. As such, it really shouldn't come as any surprise to hear that Mirio has some truly outstanding quotes.

That is our focus for today: the amazing quotes that have sprung from Mirio. He may have only appeared relatively recently in the series, but he's already making a major impact. Both for the fans, and for the series as a whole.

10 The Most Iconic Line

“Powerrrrrrr!”

We might as well start with one of the quotes Mirio is most famous for. He's become rather known for shouting power while showing off to Class 1A. To be fair, he was determined to make a point – and he did it well.

Still, it's something that has stuck with us as well. So while this is a simple line, it is well worth being on the list.

9 I'll Never Let Him Make You Sad Ever Again

“I'll never let him make you sad ever again.”

Ouch, this quote is going right to the feels, don't you think? Here Mirio is famously promising Eri that he'll protect her. More than that, he's promising that she'll never have to feel that sad or desperate again.

They say you should never make a promise you can't keep...but Mirio was determined to keep this promise. That's why hearing it hit so hard.

8 Reach for the Stars!

“I turned my work-study experience into power that's allowing me to reach for the stars! Which is why, even if you're scared, I wholeheartedly recommend it to you, first-years!”

You've got to admit, pulling Mirio in to teach the first-years was actually a brilliant call. Not only did he show off his knowledge, but he showed them what they could be. And he did it all in an upbeat manner. Granted, he also beat the heck out of them, but that just went even further in showing the potential each and every student has within.

7 Predictions Are Built on Experience

“You need prediction! It's the way to be faster than your surroundings. The way to trick time. Prediction is the most critical skill of all! And the thing that makes predictions possible is, experience! Predictions are built on experience!”

Another important lesson to learn from Mirio. He's right though. These heroes-in-training are going to come across villains with strange quirks, and thus sometimes they're going to have to find odd ways around them.

They won't learn how to adapt to every strange situation until they have experience under their belt, which is really all that Mirio is trying to teach them here.

6 Won't Catch Me Sobbing

“So that's why you won't catch me sobbing anymore. After all, I'm 'going to become an outstanding hero' from here on out!”

Another painful line from Mirio, though perhaps that has more to do with the context and timing than anything else. Actually, the quote itself is pretty inspiring. Mirio is not going to let anything hold him back. Not the loss of his mentor, nor the loss of his quirk. There's something powerful to take away from that.

5 I Can't Let This Go!

“As long as that girl can't smile...I can't let this go!!”

Many of Mirio's heavy-hitting quotes come from his famous fight against Overhaul. Or, more accurately stated: his battle to save Eri. This is one of those quotes. He was not willing to stop fighting, not for a second. Regardless of the cost. All because he knew there was a little girl in pain, and he was in a position to do something about that.

4 A Hero's Cape

“A hero's cape...! Is for bundling up a young girl who's in terrible pain!”

Another endearing quote from Mirio in regards to Eri. Here he's referring to the moment when he wrapped Eri in his cape, all with the intent of protecting her from further harm.

There is something really sweet about the gesture, and not just because we all know what immediately followed: Mirio taking a hit for Eri, and ultimately losing his quirk because of it. A fact that he doesn't even remotely regret.

3 The Basics for a Hero

“Wanting to do what you can to help those in trouble...Is part of the basics for a hero...Right?”

This quote is so right. It's also a point the series has been trying to drive home; being a true hero involves wanting to help. The motive behind the actions matters just as much as the actions themselves. That's how you become the Symbol of Peace. Or how you fail, depending on what your motivation is.

2 I Will Always Be Lemillion!

“I will always be Lemillion! Nothing I've done up to now will ever be useless!”

Once again, Mirio is correct. Even without his quirk, Mirio is still a hero. He's a hero because of his actions and his personality, not because of his powers. Though perhaps he didn't realize how true that was, until the moment he was forced to accept it all.

1 I'll Be Your Hero!

“Everything's ok now! I'll be your hero!”

Yes, we know. It's another line from Mirio to Eri, but you've got to admit: they hit you right in the heart. Seeing him protect her with everything he had was touching, and it's impossible not to love him for it.

Additionally, it went so far in proving all of the reasons why he could (and still can) become the Symbol of Peace. We're rooting for you, Mirio.
