There really needs to be more Bravo crossovers. It is just so exciting to see Bravolebrities interacting with cast members from different shows. Fans have become so used to knowing what might happen when co-stars are in the same room that it can become kind of predictable to watch. But, when there's a fan favorite who's new to the mix, there's no telling what might happen.
Who could ever forget when Bethenny Frankel criticzed the production quality of Erika Jayne's music video on Real Housewives of Beverly Hills? Sure, this is Bethenny and she's known for sharing her opinions, but seeing these two go toe to toe was just electric and unexpected. Seeing Ramona Singer at Melissa Gorga's birthday party, bragging about her "ageless" appearance (yet again) was just TV gold. When Southern Charm stars Craig Conover, Shep Rose and Austen Kroll showed up on Summer House, it had the promise of a super exciting episode, but there was a lot of great content that didn't make the cut. Instead, fans had to hear complaints about the non-relationship between Jules Daoud and Jordan Verroi. The episode (and Summer House as a whole) would have been a million times better if there were more scenes with the Southern Charm men. Those guys are good TV without even trying. Not only that, but Craig did end up hooking up with Jules. That's a major storyline, yet it pretty much happened all off-camera. Sure, there were some shots with the camera panning to her empty bed, but there was way more they could have shown from their interactions. Thankfully, Craig spilled some major tea about their interactions.
There was a lot more to the Jules and Craig thing than Jules sleeping in a different Hamptons house. In a recent interview with The Daily Dish, Craig said, "Jules is great." He also divulged that Shep, Austen and Craig were actually in a major fight when they arrived at that party, which was not even shown. That's when he decided to ditch them for some fun on the water slide. Craig elaborated, "As the day went on, Jules and I ended up kissing on top of the waterslide, I think. But they didn’t air any of this stuff." Excluding that footage was truly a loss for the show. Craig recalled, "I ended up wearing Carl [Radke] and Kyle [Cooke]’s clothes out. I give like, the toast at the end of the night before we all go out, and then Jules came back to wherever our house was." On the show, the hookup was glossed over with a pretty quick exchange in the kitchen. Carl remarked, "So, you had sex with Craig?" She responded, "I did." That was the end, resulting in a completely missed opportunity for a storyline, especially since these two hung out for the rest of the summer.
Craig told The Daily Dish, "I spent the summer in New York, so Jules and I hung out for a couple of weeks and then, whenever I was in New York, we hung out. We just had a great time and we’re still close friends." The sewing enthusiast concluded, "If I go to New York, we’ll probably hang out. But you know, nothing serious." Technically speaking, this wasn't the first time Craig talked about his summer lovin'. It's just the first time he was permitted to mention Jules by name. Last summer, Craig teased his fans during an appearance on The Domenick Nati Show. Reality Tea reported that said there was a Bravo hookup "still in the vault," confirming that it wasn't with a Real Housewife, before he joked, "I feel like it wouldn’t have stayed a secret if it was a Housewife." That is so accurate. He also remarked that the hookup is "maybe still a year from coming out," which seemed like an odd comment to make at the time. However, it now makes perfect sense since Bravo fans didn't know Jules at that time.
Craig's dating life has been a hot topic of conversation among Bravo fans for years. The fact that these two had a thing going for weeks while she filmed a show about people hooking up in the summer and it was pretty much hidden from the show doesn't make much sense. But, maybe the story will get its proper shine when Southern Charm returns.
