90 Day Fiancé: Is Drama Between Andrei & Elizabeth's Dad Chuck Fake?

The 90 Day Fiancé viewers have always sensed tension between Elizabeth Potthast's family members and her husband, Andrei Castravet. The Moldovian native doesn't seem to enjoy the company of Elizabeth's sisters and especially her father, Chuck Potthast. But, according to a theory, Andrei and Chuck do get along really well. They are just pretending to have a sour relationship to attract the audience's attention.

Everything was rosy when the couple first entered the show, but soon the drama started unfolding. First of all, the couple didn't have any income source, since neither Andrei nor his wife is working. While dealing with financial problems, major conflicts keep happening between Andrei and his wife's family. At one time, he went on to say that Elizabeth's family members are "double-faced." He doesn't talk to them anymore and calls their relationship "nonexistent." Eventually, his toxic relations with his in-laws started affecting his relationship with his wife. Once Elizabeth said, "It definitely seeps into our relationship and our marriage, and it causes us to fight at times."

Andrei states that the tension with the in-laws is the root cause of all his problems. But it seems like all these disputes are just put up for the cameras because they come across as a big happy family behind the cameras. For instance, while celebrating Christmas, Elizabeth shot a video and put it up as her IG story. The clip revealed that her American family, including her father and Andrei, were enjoying the get-together. Many TLC fans know that Chuck doesn't like Andrei's lazy and unsupportive attitude. Still, during the celebration, he didn't seem disappointed with him at all. Unlike what we get to see on-screen, Elizabeth's father was in a fun mood and also showed off some cool dance moves.

On the other hand, Andrei was sporting a shirtless look, which hints that he was thoroughly loving the event and is pretty comfortable in between his in-laws. While opening the presents, he seemed most thrilled out of all the family members - he even got several shorts as the gift! Now, we're wondering if the grumpy faces and spiteful comments are just a show off for the camera. Well, it's quite possible that the family decided to add a little spicy drama because, honestly, it sells!

Chuck also agreed to pay for the couple's second wedding in Moldova and said that he is doing it for his daughter's happiness. Well, if he didn't like his son-in-law at all, we don't think he would ever agree to spend a penny on him. Even Elizabeth is with Andrei because he isn't exactly as shown in the show - entitled and disappointing. Otherwise, she would have said goodbye to him a long time ago.
