Below Deck Med’s Hannah Ferrier is quitting yachting after season 5. Fans have been dealt a blow, since she was the OG of the seas.
The Bravo show follows around the filthy rich as they charter superyachts through the Mediterranean Sea. The film crew gets up close and personal with the drama that goes on below deck with the boat crew and their shenanigans. As the 150-foot yacht island-hops throughout the season, each episode features a different group of guests who allow viewers to watch the crew scurry around trying to make five-star meals and turndown service look like a piece of cake. At the helm is a captain, who is all about positivity, and helping her team grow.
The new season is set to premiere Monday with an all-female leadership. But Chief Stew, Hannah Ferrier, has revealed to ET that she will be quitting the show after this season. The reality star has finally realized that it is time to vacate the yacht and find a new career path. Ferrier revealed she had accepted her fate even before season five had started and her choices will play out in the new season. She did say that she had a healthy work relationship this season with Captain Sandy. Fans will recall last season when the Captain accused Ferrier of not being passionate about her job, but it turned out she was suffering from extreme anxiety. The Bravo personality did admit that she is not passionate about boats or late-night anchor watches, but is enthusiastic about making sure the guests have a great experience.
The Australian came across as a bit prickly during the interview, which also helped fans to understand why she will not be returning for a sixth season. The stew has been working on yachts since her early 20s and had no desire to be a 40-year-old who got drunk with the young crew and lived in a shack. She admitted that the start of the season was difficult as she had an insubordinate stewardess and a boyfriend back on land. So, fans will not be able to see the head of the boat make out with any crew this time.
The Below Deck franchise has also lost Kate Chastain. She made her announcement that she would be leaving the show. Ferrier said she is really happy living in Sydney with her partner and dog as they bring joy to her life. The reality star is looking forward to settling down, having children, and moving on in the next chapter of her life.
Below Deck Mediterranean airs Mondays at 8pm EST on Bravo.
