Selling Sunset star, Christine Quinn got engaged to her boyfriend Christian Richard when she took a break from work and was out traveling around the world with him. After the rift with Mary Fitzgerald towards the end of season 1, Christine thought it would be better to keep the good news to herself and only tell Davina, who was making an effort to be in constant contact with her at that time.
In the first season, we get to know that the 31-year-old Christine has an outspoken nature, and other girls refer to her as the queen bee of the group. She and Mary were best friends, roommates, and co-workers before Chrishell Stause entered the series. During a heated argument, Christine defended Mary's bond with her fiancé, Romain Bonnet, when Chrishell was asking prying questions and making insulting assumptions about their relationship. But, in return, Mary went against Christine and felt sympathetic towards Chrishell and hugged her. Clearly, the blonde bombshell felt betrayed and felt like a fool who stood up for the wrong person.
At that point, Davina was the only one with Christine, and eventually, the leggy lass acknowledged the fact that her new partner (in crime) is exactly like her - real, honest, and straightforward. Christine said that Davina is genuine and the "only one without fake boobs." The two shared a strong bond, and that's why Christine told her new best friend that she's not invited to Mary's wedding even though she was asked to not, which made things even worse between Mary and Christine. By the end of season 1, Mary and Christine were not on speaking terms. According to an All About the Tea interview, when Christine got engaged, she didn't care to share the news with her ex-best friend, who was not making any effort to reach out to her.
Christine explained, "Honestly, relationships take two to tango. A telephone works BOTH ways. If I'm not receiving anything, then I'm not going to reach out. I'm not desperate for a friend! I have plenty of friends that check in with me on a regular basis, including Davina, who was the one privy to the information first." Well, she does make a valid argument. She continued, "During that time, Mary wasn't reaching out. I was traveling out of the country for months at a time. I really didn't want to send a text message, so I wanted to wait until I could sit down with my friends, show them the ring and tell them the whole story. I wanted to wait until I was face-to-face with my girls to really tell them any news."
We trust Christine's intentions that she wants to be on good terms with Mary. However, we think a little maturity is needed from both parties if they're willing to settle this fight and want to be friends again. They will have to forgive each other for their little mistakes and talk it out for once and all. In the preview of season 3, we do get to see a glimpse of these two talking (or more like shouting), but that doesn't seem very fruitful at first glance. Still, let's wait till the upcoming season drops to see if these divas make it work or break it!
Selling Sunset season 2 is available to stream on Netflix.
