RHOA: NeNe Leakes Addresses Contract & Fights Back Against Allegations

NeNe Leakes has blamed Bravo producers for the delay on her Real Housewives of Atlanta season 13 contact and fought back allegations that her fellow castmates have made about her. For a few years now, NeNe's return to RHOA has become an annual and dramatic back-and-forth involving her fellow castmates and Bravo producers. For example, as one of the most famous women in the entire Real Housewives franchise, NeNe has allegedly lashed out at Bravo over a pay disparity between her and the rest of the cast.

In 2020, all of the Real Housewives shows have been affected by the production breaks that resulted from the COVID-19 pandemic. Ultimately, these long breaks not only interrupted ongoing seasons but also pushed back future seasons that hadn't been in production yet. As if external factors weren't already playing a major role in this franchise, it seems like tensions have escalated between NeNe Leakes, Bravo, and the other RHOA castmates. Now, NeNe has taken the time to address some of the accusations that were made against her and update fans on why her season 13 contract is still pending.

On Wednesday, NeNe Leakes took to Instagram Live to claim that she isn't the reason why her Real Housewives of Atlanta season 13 contract is still pending. In turn, the RHOA star alleged that it's the Bravo producers who are delaying the process. "I'm still in a holding pattern. It's not me, it's them. Every single season (...), I've been dealing with this going back and forth. (...) I know a lot of people think it's me, 'NeNe holds out to the last minute.' (...) A negotiation does take time, but I can't move their pens any faster than they move them. I can't make their emails work."

NeNe Leakes then proceeded to bring up certain claims that she has heard from Bravo producers and her fellow castmates. For instance, NeNe talked about being accused of hitting a producer of the show. In response, the RHOA star clarified that, in fact, she grabbed the t-shirt of a camera operator and the t-shirt tore. Nonetheless, NeNe claimed that the production team never took legal action against her for that situation. Later in the live-stream, NeNe addressed those who criticized her for leaving halfway through the season 12 reunion, which was conducted virtually. To that, NeNe simply said: "I closed my computer early, and rightfully so."

There is probably no slowing down when it comes to the drama involving NeNe Leaks and the cast and producers of Real Housewives of Atlanta. With that said, as Bravo gets closer to resuming production on the show, there is a real possibility that season 13 will not have NeNe on it.
