Supernatural has been on our screens for the last fifteen years and fans have grown to love the show's characters and in particular, Dean Winchester. Smart, funny, and easily one of the best older brothers on TV, it is easy to see why Dean has become a fan-favorite.
As all fans of the show know, Dean is a natural trouble maker and has no problem saying exactly what is on his mind. Often tinged with hints of pop culture and his unique brand of sass, Dean Winchester has some of the show's cheekiest and wittiest lines.
10 "Well, That Is Exactly The Kind Of Crack Police Work I'd Expect Out Of You Guys."
From the show's pilot, it became very clear that Dean had no problem telling law enforcement exactly what he thought of them. In the pilot, the brothers found themselves investigating a range of strange disappearances that all took place on the same stretch of road.
As a hunter, Dean knew that it was something paranormal but the local police were obviously stumped. So, in typical Dean fashion, he sarcastically commented on the quality of their police work, much to Sam's embarrassment.
9 "What Are You, The Hamburgler?"
The Horsemen of the Apocalypse were some of the scariest entities on the show. In the episode "My Bloody Valentine," Team Free Will encountered Famine, which caused Castiel to act completely out of character.
Castiel just couldn't keep his hands off burgers due to his vessel's love for red meat. Dean, already irritated by the whole thing, sarcastically compared the angel to the famed McDonald's character. In return, Castiel didn't budge and continued to munch on his burgers for the rest of the episode.
8 "You Fudging Touch Me Again, I'll Fudging Kill You."
For most people, Christmas is one of the happiest times of the year. Unfortunately, Sam and Dean spent some of their Christmas time one year as hostages to a pair of pagan deities in the episode, "A Very Supernatural Christmas."
The two deities were the gods of the Winter Solstice and had been pretending to be a sweet old couple while they were happily stealing human sacrifices for millennia. The two tortured the brothers which caused Dean to call her a b*tch. In response, the old god sweetly told Dean that he should say "fudge" instead of swearing. Therefore, in typical Dean Winchester style, he used her very own words against her.
7 "Don't Objectify Me."
Bela Talbot became one of the Winchesters' most interesting human enemies. Played by The Walking Dead's Lauren Cohen, she was a con-artist who they frequently encountered in the third season. She and Dean had excellent chemistry and this played out in the episode "Red Sky at Morning."
In the episode, Dean was forced to wear a tux to attend a gala and to Bela's surprise, Dean cleaned up very well. So, she propositioned him. Dean, half in embarrassment and a half in interest, sassily told her to back off.
6 ''Oh Sweetheart, I Don't Do Shorts."
Dean Winchester has a very particular dress code. If not in his FBI threads, Dean is always dressed in flannels, jeans, and boots. The older Winchester rarely ventures out of his clothing comfort zone and made this clear from the very first season.
In the episode "Wendigo," the Winchesters went tracking through the woods to investigate the mysterious disappearance of a group of campers. The two pretended to be park rangers but stood out like sore thumbs due to their outfits. When one of the victims' sister questioned Dean on his lack of appropriate clothing, he cheekily replied about his aversion to shorts.
5 "Dude, You Fugly."
Scarecrows are generally not the prettiest things in the world but the scarecrow from the show's first season was certainly one of the ugliest ones out there. This may have had to do with the fact that it was actually the effigy of a Norse pagan god that required yearly human sacrifices.
In the episode, Dean couldn't help but comment on the hideous strawman. Fortunately, he and Sam were able to destroy it so that no one would ever have to lay their eyes on it.
4 "Calm Down, I'm Wearing Sunglasses At Night. You Know Who Does That? No-Talent Douche Bags."
Dean Winchester seemingly has a lot of ideas on what is appropriate clothing and apparently wearing sunglasses at night is a major faux pas. In the episode, "Changing Channels," he and Sam were trapped by the Trickster in an alternate universe where they were forced to play characters on various TV shows.
In one of the scenes, the two had to play detectives in a procedural cop show. Set at night, the two found themselves in cheap suits and ridiculous sunglasses. Dean, already in a foul mood, had no patience for their new looks.
3 "Man, I Am Telling You Give Me Five Minutes With Some Clippers."
If there is one thing that everybody knows about Sam Winchester is that he has a luscious head of hair. Unfortunately, Dean has always despised Sam's long-haired coif, deeming it impractical for a hunter.
Sam's hair was particularly unruly in the season eight episode "Pac-Man Fever." In the episode, Sam had just woken up after completing one of the trials and was slightly disorientated. Dean seeing his brother and his disheveled hair, gleefully remarked that he could easily fix it by just cutting it.
2 "Well, How 'Bout This. The Suite Life Of Zach And Cass."
Out of the two brothers, Dean is a lot more entrenched in pop culture and therefore a lot of his best lines have something to do with film or TV. One of Dean's most iconic pop culture quotes took place in the season four finale, "Lucifer Rising."
After having been magically transported to the Angelic Green Room, he noticed Zachariah and Castiel and sarcastically compared them to the popular Disney Channel show, The Suite Life of Zach and Cody. Unfortunately, this line was wasted on the angels as they didn't "understand that reference."
1 "I Think I'm Adorable."
Dean loves to mess around with law enforcement. One of his most iconic and sassiest lines occurred in the episode "Folsom Prison Blues." In the episode, the brothers purposefully got arrested in order to help a friend of their father. However, their plan became complicated with the arrival of FBI agent Henriksen.
Now, most people would have thought it better to keep quiet instead of antagonizing the agent but Dean is not most people. Therefore, when the agent asked Dean if he thought he was funny, he tauntingly replied "I think I'm adorable."
