Quotes are what make a show or movie click, what makes them stand out from the rest and the 80's nostalgia-filled show, Stranger Things, is a show filled with enough quotes to leave any fan content. Here are the ten best quotes from Stranger Things.

10 "Mouthbreather."

Insults in any form of media are always something audience members enjoy. Usually, it's the creative insults, the one that people wouldn't expect to be an insult, such as "your mother was a hamster!" It's these kinds of retorts that make people chuckle.

Stranger Things has a simple yet creative insult, one spoken by several members but most frequently by everyone's favorite number, Eleven. Hearing the term "mouthbreather" coming from the usually silent girl is a treat and a welcome bit of levity in a great show.

9 "Mornings are for coffee and completion."

For one reason or another, there ends up being a quote or line that feels as if it should be embroidered on a pillow. Whether it be meant for comedic purposes or to give sage advice, quotes sometimes end up bringing peace to our minds unexpectedly.

Chief Jim Hopper is probably one of the more unexpected characters to bring this to light, with his jokey "Mornings are for coffee and contemplation" line actually making sense and serving as a bit of great advice. May even make for a great mug.

8 "Nobody normal ever accomplished anything meaningful in this world."

It's strange to think that something like a tv show about kids running around, fighting monsters from another dimension could contain profound and meaningful quotes and yet, the show somehow pulls this juggling act off.

7 "You shouldn't have upset him."

Sometimes, simple lines can carry the most meaning and a great deal of weight. For example, a line from a horror film can instill fear into the audience, whether it be simple or complex.

In season 2, the main characters believe that they finally have the upper hand on the Mind Flayer, only for it be revealed in a single line from Will Byers that it was all a trap, shaking audiences to their core with the terror in his voice and the fear of the Mind Flayer.

6 "I may be a pretty s***** boyfriend, but turns out I'm a pretty damn good babysitter."

No show is without a character who audiences tend to revile in one form or another. On rare occasions, however, these characters are given a chance to change and evolve pass what makes them so hated, making for a great arc.

While in season 1 Steve Harrington is seen as a jerk, when season 2 rolls around, Harrington changes, with the above quote truly selling the point home. Serving as a way to both put a smile on audiences' faces but also show a great change in Steves's character.

5 "Is--is he here? Is who here? Henderson!"

Relationships are something shows are great at cultivating and growing upon, showing friends fall apart or enemies come together. The friendship between that of Steve Harrington and Dustin is a strange yet great one, with the pair growing on one another.

4 "What's at the X? Pirate treasure?"

There's always one or two moments in films or tv shows where audience members notice a small nod to another property. These references are perfect easter eggs for fans of said property, filling them with surprise and joy.

Given what 80's nostalgia that envelopes Stranger Things, it was only a matter of time before Bob Newby, played by Sean Astin, star of the 80's hit Goonies, referenced the movie. It's a fun quote that many fail to notice on their first viewing but manage to find later on.

3 "She's not going to be able to resist these pearls."

Everyone has a favorite character in some form of media, whether it films or tv, someone who's a joy to watch on the screen, no matter how small. Stranger Things is no different, with many popular characters, although none as fun to watch as Dustin.

No matter what he's doing in the show, Dustin always has a quirky charm to him, despite missing most of his teeth. The line on its own, of him thinking his toothless mouth could get a girl, is hit home by his hilarious purr.

2 "But please, if you don’t mind, for the sake of your poor old dad, keep the door open three inches."

The main goal of either tv or movies is to move an audience. Films and shows are meant to make the audience feel something, to make them laugh or cry. It's not always fun, but it's part of what makes the show or movie worthwhile.

1 "Friends don't lie."

In rare shows, there are certain characters who don't say much, either because of how they are meant to act or behave. However, when they are finally given the chance to shine, to say they're rare line, it's a powerful moment to be remembered.
