5 Rom-Coms Capricorns Will Love (& 5 They Will Hate) | ScreenRant

The Capricorn sign isn't a sign that is known to show very much emotion. When it comes to love and dating, Capricorns usually keep details of their personal lives to themselves. They aren't afraid to show the people they love how they're feeling, but they are more traditional when it comes to expressing those kind of emotions. Capricorns make great managers and leaders in their professional lives because they have a natural ability to take charge.

This sign is definitely a bit more conservative than other signs in the zodiac, but that doesn't mean they can't enjoy things like films and music and other forms of entertainment. For the Capricorn looking to watch a romantic comedy on their next night in, here are a few titles to check out, and a couple to avoid.

10 Love: La La Land

The Capricorn sign loves music and it's usually this sign's go-to for entertainment, or if they're just looking to feel good. Because Capricorns are a bit more traditional with their musical likes, they will definitely be able to appreciate Damian Chazelle's romantic comedy/drama musical film, La La Land, starring Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling as two dreamers who fall in love, but realize that maintaining a relationship while pursuing their big dreams is a lot harder than either of them ever could have imagined.

9 Hate: The Kissing Booth

This Netflix original romantic teen comedy is one for Capricorns to avoid. The movie, starring Joey King and Jacob Elordi, is based on the book by the same name, which was a hit with young audiences. The film falls short in its execution. A lot of the moments throughout this film are a little too overdone, both in the acting and the direction, and would probably make the more reserved Capricorn uneasy watching.

8 Love: To All The Boys I've Loved Before

For Capricorns looking for a solid Netflix original teen romantic comedy to watch with the family on movie night, To All the Boys I've Loved Before is a great choice.

This movie, also based on a series of books with the same name, tells the story of Laura Jean, a quiet teenager, flying under the high school radar until her little sister finds a bunch of love letters Laura Jean has written to past crushes and saved, and her sister sends them to the boys. Laura Jean's world is flipped upside down and it's pretty fun and entertaining to watch.

7 Hate: About Time

The Capricorn sign likes things that are easy to follow when it comes to what they're watching. Because their day-to-day lives are busy and this sign is usually managing a lot of tasks and people during the day, they look to film and television as a way to unwind. The romantic comedy/drama, About Timestarring Rachel McAdams, is probably a film to avoid because its storyline is a little more complicated than most since it includes time travel, and can be difficult to follow.

6 Love: The Big Sick

The Big Sick was hailed by critics and fans as one of the best movies of 2017 and Capricorns will love it, not only for its simplicity in the way it tells this love story, but also because this film was clearly made by people who really believed in it.

The film is based on the true love story of its writers, Emily V. Gordon and Kumail Nanjiani. It's clear that this film is a labor of love and Capricorns will appreciate its quality execution.

5 Hate: Just Friends

Ryan Reynolds' romantic comedy, Just Friends, is going to be a little too basic for Capricorns to enjoy. The story's format is one audiences have seen over and over again and the characters are a little too obnoxious to be able to relate to or find any kind of connection with. The film relies on its funny moments, which are full of cheap jokes, and not something Capricorns will be able to find any kind of humor in.

4 Love: Friends With Benefits

This romantic comedy also follows a pretty basic storytelling structure, but it does it very well. The script is really well written and the chemistry between the film's two leads, Justin Timberlake and Mila Kunis, is undeniable, which makes watching this movie even more enjoyable.

The Capricorn sign will also be able to relate well to Timberlake's character, Dylan in the film, who works very hard and has a deep connection with his family, and his father in particular.

3 Hate: How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days

Though this romantic comedy has been deemed a "classic" in recent years, the Capricorn sign will most likely find it cheesy, and maybe even a little boring. Capricorns will also struggle with how the two main characters, Ben and Andie, mix their work with their personal lives. Both Andie and Ben are trying to get ahead in their careers and place bets on their love lives to get the promotions they think they deserve, a concept that would turn any hard working Capricorn off.

2 Love: The Proposal

This romantic comedy also mixes love and work, but in a different way that Capricorns will be able to appreciate. When Margaret Tate, played by Sandra Bullock, is about to be deported back to Canada, she forces her assistant, Andrew, played by Ryan Reynolds to marry her so she can get her green card, stay in America, and continue working her way up the latter at the publishing company she loves so much. Margaret's work ethic in this film will definitely impress any Capricorn.

1 Hate: Sweet Home Alabama

Family is incredibly important to the Capricorn sign, which is why they are going to find Reese Witherspoon's character, Melanie, in the romantic comedy, Sweet Home Alabama, so unrelatable. Melanie left her small town southern roots years ago for New York City, and she hasn't been back since. When Margaret must go back to handle some unresolved issues in her personal life, she reconnects with where she's from, which redeems her character a bit. Capricorns will struggle to relate to Melanie because they can't imagine abandoning where they're from the way she does in this film.
