Whether you call him Colt or Coltee, this 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? star is not one who can be missed. Season six of 90 Day Fiancé introduced TLC fans to the volatile couple of Colt Johnson and Larissa Dos Santos Lima. The fights, the arrests, and the divorce all made for juicy reality TV drama.
Obviously, Colt earned loads of fame from the show. With Colt now coming back as the reigning king of the TLC show on Happily Ever After, many viewers are intrigued by his background. Here’s everything a 90 Day Fiancé fan should know about momma’s boy Colt Johnson.
Thirty-five-year-old Colt is a software engineer from Las Vegas, Nevada. He holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science from the Digipen Institute of Technology in Redmond, WA. His LinkedIn profile states that the 90 Day Fiancé star works across all kinds of programming challenges and was closely associated with his alma mater, Digipen, for close to six years as an engineer.
Colt started off as a computer science teacher and later was promoted to a software development engineer position. Here, the TLC star worked with a wide range of prestigious clients like The Boeing Company and Lotus F1. More recently, Colt worked with Konami Gaming, Inc as a software engineer, but was unfortunately laid off from the position in April 2020. As per LinkedIn, Konami offers a competitive base salary that could range anything between $77,600 per year to an average total yearly compensation of $81,800. In an episode of 90 Day Fiancé: Self Quarantine, Colt revealed that he felt “angry and disappointed” in himself after being laid off, but hopes to find a new job soon. CheatSheet states that Colt reportedly made $1000 per episode of 90 Day Fiancé and another $2500 bonus for Tell-All. His net worth is estimated to be $500,000.
Colt met his ex-wife Larissa dos Santos Lima online. He sent her a message, she replied and the two 90 Day Fiancé stars met for the first time during a vacation in Cancun, Mexico. The two were engaged, but when Colt’s fiancé got to America on her K-1 visa, things took a dramatic turn. Although they got married, the relationship was marred with fights, leading to several serious domestic violence charges and even three arrests for Larissa. The 90 Day Fiancé couple was divorced within seven months of marriage and Larissa risked getting deported. Colt withdrew the Affidavit of Support he signed when Larissa applied for her K-1 visa, and the Brazilian’s record has been squeaky clean as she continues to stay in the USA on a work visa.
A recent episode of 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? had Colt and his new Brazilian girlfriend Jess Caroline engage in an argument that reminded many of his time with Larissa. Colt started dating Jess a few months after his divorce from his ex-wife, and this relationship too was short-lived. After the shoe-throwing fight that 90 Day Fiancé fans saw on TV, Jess accused Colt of sharing her nude photos with others after they broke up. She called it “revenge porn” and even bonded with Larissa over Colt's indiscretion. A reason behind the couple’s fights was his “friend” Vanessa Guerra, who the reality TV celeb was rumored to be dating. Vanessa is now in a relationship with a new man and feels Colt is jealous and insecure about her romantic life. Jess has a new boyfriend, and Larissa too is back with Eric Nichols. But Colt is apparently still single.
When one scrolls through Colt’s Instagram now, they see a whole new person than the one from 90 Day Fiancé. Colt appears to have lost a decent amount of weight after losing out on his two Brazilian lovers, leading to his all-new revenge bod. Colt was ridiculed heavily after his recent appearance on the reality show when he decided to bare it all in a tight Speedo swimsuit. His look on the reality show has always been about his built and nerdy style, but his slimmer avatar has shocked many. With no visible double-chin and a new hairdo, the 90 Day Fiancé personality looks visibly slimmer. Colt’s hard work at the gym seems to have paid off by what looks like an overall loss of 40-50 pounds. Check out his new look for yourself in the post below:
Many TLC viewers are creeped out whenever they hear Colt’s name. This is partly because of him being a self-proclaimed momma’s boy, even at the age of 35. Colt supported his mother Debbie after his father’s death, but has decided to stay put in the same Las Vegas house, even after 10 years. 90 Day Fiancé fans feel Debbie had a part to play in Colt's misunderstandings with Larissa, and many also saw her adding fuel to his soured relationship with Jess. Fans have seen Colt discussing his sex-life with Debbie and have expressed their reservations about her unnecessary involvement many times. Some fans pointed out that Colt could be socially awkward from being too co-dependent on his mom. Debbie is shown doing his laundry, making his bed, driving him to and from work, and cooking his meals, which further puts off fans who think of Colt as an overgrown momma’s boy who can’t function on his own. In addition to this major flaw, Colt is also chided for his many uncomfortable interactions on screen, especially the way he approaches and speaks to women.
Colt revealed to his fans that he was working on a Colt 2.0 version of himself. With the weight loss, the reality star seems to have already catapulted himself into a successful transformation. In spite of his relationship drama and the recent loss of employment, the 90 Day Fiancé star has adopted a positive outlook. In a post shared by him on Instagram, he wrote about having been gone through “a lot” lately and said he’s trying his best to not get overwhelmed by everything happening around him. Colt is currently spending his time with friends and mother Debbie at home, as he along with his fans watch new bouts of drama unfold in his life with each episode of 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After?.
90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? airs Sundays at 8 pm EST on TLC.
