The Asus ROG Phone 3 aims to deliver high-end gaming experiences in a compact handheld form factor. Asus' latest gaming smartphone comes with all the necessary features that makes it a must-have for dedicated gamers and here are all the official accessories that can help to push those experiences even further.
The latest ROG Phone 3's game-centered specs are complimented by its range of accessories that help keep it cool, both figuratively and literally. In fact, the new gaming phone entry already comes packaged with the improved AeroActive Cooler 3 cooling fan unit, along with its stylish yet sturdy enough Aero Case protective shell. While this setup seems pretty identical to its predecessor, the ROG Phone 2, the power disparity between both units is anything but similar.
The Asus ROG Phone successor has a handful of noteworthy accessories that can help to push its performance to the max, but are sold separately. The Mobile Desktop Dock add-on gives the latest Asus gaming phone the ability to connect to external 4K monitors, surround sound systems, wired LAN Ethernet cables. Furthermore, its access to additional storage (via an SD card slot), and external peripherals (including a 3.5mm headphones/mic, mouse and keyboard ports), makes the latest ROG smartphone less of a phone, and more of a desktop powerhouse. The TwinView Dock 3, on the other hand, gives the ROG Phone 3 a secondary 6.5-inch touchscreen display, with an equally fast 144Hz refresh-rate and 5,000 mAh capacity. Aside from acting as an additional gaming screen, this add-on also brings the 3.5mm audio jack support back, since the phone itself requires an adapter before users can connect their wired headsets.
While the newest ROG phone entry certainly has enough power in its specs to handle most tasks, a controller is still vital for those hoping to do longer gaming sessions. The Kunai 3 Gamepad features most buttons found in full-fledged gaming controllers, including ROG's signature RGB lighting. This modular controller can also be customized to adapt to most gaming circumstances.
Alternatively, users can also opt to use their own PlayStation, Xbox or Stadia controllers instead, by connecting them to the specifically-designed ROG clip accessory. Of course, those hoping to add a little pizzazz to their gaming phone protection should consider getting the shimmering ROG Lighting Armor Case, which offers Aura lighting support in a thick, protective shell. These accessories might not be necessary in enjoying what the Asus ROG Phone 3 has to offer, but are worth considering if gamers really want to push the included and powerful Snapdragon 865+ processor to its limits.
