In November 2019, Disney+ launched and quickly became a hot spot for Disney Channel nostalgia, the MCU, classic princess movies, and rare vintage treasures. Even though the streaming platform serves up quality content, it doesn't have everything. Just like the other services, Disney+ sees titles come and go.
At launch, Disney+ was in the midst of deals with other streaming platforms. While some of those deals have peacefully concluded, others have more time left on the clock. Netflix still has a few Disney titles, and in some cases, they overlap with Disney+'s offerings. In increasing order of IMDb score, here are all the Disney movies fans can still watch on Netflix; some are also on Disney+, and some aren't.
12 Tini: The New Life of Violetta - 5.5
Violetta (Martini Stoessel) may not sound like a familiar character to American Disney fans, but she is the lead character in a Disney Channel Argentine telenovela. Tini: The New Life of Violetta (2016) is a follow-up to the series Violetta.
Netflix describes it as follows: "After completing a world tour, a teen pop star spends the summer at an Italian villa to recover from heartbreak and grow into a mature artist." It looks as though the movie was on Disney+ at one time, but it no longer shows up in a search.
11 The Nutcracker and the Four Realms - 5.5
The Nutcracker and the Four Realms featured ballerina Misty Copeland and was released in 2018. This nutcracker account also features Keira Knightley and employs a throng of familiar characters from the ballet. This film is an interesting example of licensing agreements.
While the movie is on Netflix, Disney+ advertises the movie on their streaming service with the caveat that it will not be available until November 28, 2020 "due to existing agreements."
10 Chicken Little - 5.7
Chicken Little is an old fable that many children are told. "The sky is falling, the sky is falling!" is one of the story's most known phrases.
In 2005, Disney released a feature film with its own imagining of the story. This time, Chicken Little is warning everyone of an invasion. The movie is on both Disney+ and Netflix.
9 Radio Rebel - 5.9
Debby Ryan was a popular member of the Disney Channel family from the late 2000s to the early 2010s. The actress played Bailey on The Suite Life on Deck and Jessie on Jessie. She also did a few movies with the Mouse. One of those was the 2012 DCOM Radio Rebel.
Debby's character, Tara, has been made fun of in recent months on TikTok, but she is really just a shy kid with a unique outlet for her creativity: the radio. When Tara's secret identity is in danger, she has to decide whether to sit quietly or start a revolution at school. The movie seems to be staying off Disney+ as long as it resides on Netflix.
8 Mary Poppins Returns - 6.7
The 2018 sequel Mary Poppins Returns may not have the highest IMDb score, but it was an enjoyable addition to the classic 1964 film.
Emily Blunt was a great Mary, and Lin-Manuel Miranda was inspiring as Jack. While both movies are ready to go on Disney+, only the sequel is viewable on Netflix. It would make sense for it to disappear soon so that all Poppins properties are in just one place.
7 Ralph Breaks the Internet - 7.1
Ralph Breaks the Internet is the 2018 sequel to Wreck-It Ralph (2012). While the original film is not on Netflix, its sequel has not disappeared since the launch of Disney+.
It is the tale of friends Ralph and Vanellope on a new adventure after finding a Wi-Fi router in the arcade where they reside. Both animated films are on Disney+ for those who prefer to watch them in one place.
6 The Princess and the Frog - 7.1
The Princess and the Frog presents the first African-American princess in Disney history. The film premiered in 2009.
It follows Princess Tiana (Anika Noni Rose) on her Louisiana bayou voyage, including the fateful kiss with a frog who wants to be human again. This brightly animated film is available on both Netflix and Disney+.
5 Tinker Bell and the Legend of the Neverbeast - 7.2
This straight-to-video movie is part of a large Tinker Bell domain at Disney. Movies about the sprightly resident of Pixie Hollow came in droves in the 2010s.
Netflix subscribers might be enjoying this one for a long time since it is not coming to Disney+ until May 2021.
4 Christopher Robin - 7.3
Winnie the Pooh is a beloved bear to many children and adults. In this 2018 film, Christopher Robin (Ewan McGregor) is now a working-class adult who needs a little inspiration from Pooh Bear.
Actor Will Friedle (Boy Meets World) has been candid about the fact that this movie was his idea, but he never got credit for it. Disney+ won't be sharing the title with Netflix (or taking it from them) until September 11, 2020.
3 Saving Mr. Banks - 7.5
Saving Mr. Banks is an emotional retelling of Walt Disney's pursuit of P.L. Travers' most well-known text, Mary Poppins.
The 2013 film starring Emma Thompson and Tom Hanks has been on Netflix for quite some time, but it is also on Disney+. The story is not totally factual, but it is interesting for fans of Disney folklore.
2 Miracle - 7.5
Miracle (2004) is a solid addition to the sports movies genre on Disney+ and on Netflix.
The film is based on the true story of United States hockey coach Herb Brooks (Kurt Russell), the man responsible for disciplining twenty unlikely kids and leading them a huge win in the 1980 Winter Olympics.
1 The Incredibles 2 - 7.6
It is hard to believe that The Incredibles came out in 2004. The superhuman family made waves all those years ago. The Incredibles were lively characters and can be considered a part of the big push for new kids' superhero movies, but they didn't get a sequel until much later.
The Incredibles 2 was released in 2018 and drew on timely developments in cyber-crime. While the Disney/Pixar film is available on Netflix in Spanish and English, it is not available at all on Disney+. Only the original movie is there, plus a short called "Jack-Jack Attack."
