The series would not have been complete without the addition of the unique creatures in the stories. Many devoted Harry Potter lovers have paid tribute to their favorite series with tattoos, and some of the most interesting are of the magical creatures themselves.

10 Merpeople

The merpeople were introduced in detail in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. When Harry Potter competed in the Triwizard Tournament, he had encounters with the merpeople of the Black Lake at Hogwarts. These merpeople are different from mermaids in fairy tales, and this tattoo depicts their appearance flawlessly. The merpeople had razor-sharp teeth, long hair, and were slightly scary. The acromantula is a powerful creature, whose venom is powerful in potions. This tattoo is a cartoon-like version of Aragog, and any fan will appreciate this adorable tribute.

6 Grindylow

Grindylow's were another magical creature introduced in the Harry Potter series that gave Harry Potter a hard time. While Harry was swimming in the Black Lake in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, he encountered some grindylows, that unfortunately attacked him while he tried to save Ron Weasley and Fleur Delacour's sister. Neville Longbottom's Boggart funnily changed into Snape, which Neville counteracted with a spell, making this Boggart appear in his grandmother's clothes. This tattoo is hilarious, and a wonderful tribute to this funny moment.

2 Hippogriff

Buckbeak was a Hippogriff introduced to fans in this series, and his story played an important role in the film. Hippogriff's, which is part horse, part eagle, was a creature that Hagrid showed his Care of Magical Creatures students at Hogwarts. Buckbeak was loved by Harry, Ron, and Hermione, as well as Hagrid and Sirius Black. This tattoo portrays Buckbeak with the large pumpkins at Hagrid's hut colorfully and beautifully.

1 Thestral

Thestrals were creatures that were invisible to those who have never witnessed death. Harry Potter learned this in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, after watching his friend, Cedric Diggory get killed by Voldemort. These creatures played a vital role in the film, as Dumbledore's Army used them to leave Hogwarts, and the Order of the Phoenix used them to transport Harry.
