The ability to practice spells and charms like the wizards and witches of Hogwarts would be a privilege to most people, but to Harry Potter characters, it's a burdensome obligation like any other homework. Regardless, some of these spells are certainly easier to master than others, but every person has a different relationship with them.
For example, Cancers in the zodiac are known for being empathetic, protective, and aware of their surroundings. Everyone has their flaws, though, and Cancers can also be touchy and vengeful. As such, there are some spells from Harry Potter that Cancers would be much better at than others.
10 Master: Ferula
Ferula is a spell that helps create bandages for wounded people. Might it be easier to just heal the wounds? Sometimes, but it's not always that easy.
There are plenty of spells concocted to inflict wounds upon people, so it's always refreshing to see one that is geared around mending them. Considering how caution-oriented Cancers are, Ferula would be no problem for them to master in their magical studies.
9 Fail: Relashio
Cancers are exceedingly loyal people who never want to let go of the people (and the things) they love. As such, Relashio would be a spell that the Cancer students of magical craft would fail completely.
Relashio is geared around the goal of getting the spell's target to release whatever they're gripping onto. The thought of doing so is not an easily supported one by Cancers, who hold onto everything they have.
8 Master: Expecto Patronum
Cancers have it within their spirit to protect anyone they encounter, whether they know the person or not. Few spells are as protection-oriented as Expecto Patronum.
Expecto Patronum is a spell to conjure a Patronus for the purpose of warding off Dementors, and few are as skilled at the spell as Harry Potter is. He was born just a few days away from the Cancer sign, too!
7 Fail: Wingardium Leviosa
Wingardium Leviosa is one of the earliest spells shown in the Harry Potter universe. Anyone who fell flat on their face attempting it was almost assuredly a Cancer, though.
It's a spell that requires initial focus from a young student. Kids already lack consistency and focus as it is. But Cancers are known to have their moods shift on a rapid basis. They might just be too sensitive to the other aspects of their lives to actually deliver on Wingardium Leviosa.
6 Master: Lumos
Lumos is one of the most peaceful spells in Harry Potter. It's only purpose is to put light back into the world, often as a method for guiding the way forward.
Lumos is a showing of a high-caring personality that seeks to aid others at every turn. Does that not sound like a Cancer? For as much trouble as Wingardium Leviosa might give them, Lumos will be as easy as a walk to Hagrid's hut.
5 Fail: Portus
Portus is one of the top spells for creating a portkey. So, essentially, it is a charm for teleportation, which would not likely be appreciated by a Cancer.
After all, Cancers are loyal and traditional. For many Cancer wizards and witches, they might not have been exposed to magical travel. They might still prefer the muggle way, even if portkeys are easier. Considering how difficult a portkey is to master, it's no surprise that a Cancer wouldn't dabble well with the spell.
4 Master: Protego
Of course, Protego had to be one of the top spells for a Cancer to master, because protection is one of the top traits of the Cancer personality!
As the name suggests, Protego is specifically designed to cast a shield between those who might be in danger and those who are causing the danger. It's effective in a pinch and emblematic of the sorts of spells Cancers would be most keen to conquer.
3 Fail: Incendio
Incendio is a spell that creates fire. On the one hand, Cancers might be deft at this because fire can be wielded as a weapon used to get revenge on cruel enemies.
However, they would ultimately not be effective at Incendio because they would use it in an unwieldy manner. Incendio is fine when starting a fire for warmth, but Cancers' personalities might cause it to get out of hand quickly. That's a failure of Incendio's intended purpose.
2 Master: Impervius
Impervius is the most incredible spell for Cancers to master easily, because it is essentially what Protego does with exponentially more power added to it.
After all, a shield can't stop every ounce of danger. If Incendio gets out of control, Impervius is a way to stop the ferocious flames. Impervius is the endgame of all protective spells, and that's why Cancers gravitate the most to it.
1 Fail: Accio
Lastly, Accio would be a no-go spell for Cancers. They'd probably learn how to do it by the time adulthood rolled around, but it goes against their general nature and disposition.
After all, Accio eliminates all mystery by providing the spell caster with exactly what they want. Cancers tend to lean more towards intuitive behavior and solving problems for themselves. Accio eliminates that altogether.
